I think people shouldn't say someones beliefs are wrong just because they believe they are. I have a friend who is the worst kind of atheist, she goes out of her way to try and convince other people God doesn't exist, she wont accept it when other people believe saying its preposterous and pathetic. he also says agnostics are pathetic wimps, I really dislike this closed-minded attitude some people seem to have.
I think that Christians should just keep their damned mouths shut. I have to ride the county connector every single day, and I hear nothing but "Jesus this" and "Jesus that." They're a bunch of black people, so it stands to reason that this would take up a large proportion of the conversation on the connector shuttle. However, I think that Christians would be well-advised to take into consideration the possibility that some people find their non-stop god-talk offensive.

Another thing: when I explain politely that I am an atheist, do not behave as if I am under some obligation to justify it. When you do this, it makes me want to raise my hand and back-hand you across the jaw. If you're not willing to be content with, "I am an atheist, thank you," you're going to hear something that offends you, no matter how polite, kind, and courteous I try to be. My reason for being an atheist is simple: I think that religion is a stupid load of hokey, and, for some reason, it seems to cause some people to act like either ret*d crackheads or utter bastards. There is no possible way for me to put this that is going to make you feel good about what you believe. Believe me, my every effort at trying to put this in softer language (I can say this in so many cuddly and fuzzy ways I don't even want to think about it) gets me nothing but heartache. It may offend you to hear my reasons for being an atheist, but I'm offended in the first place at being treated as if I'm supposed to defend myself as if I'm on some kind of trial just for stating that I'm an atheist. It makes me want to kill you! I try really hard to be sensitive over this issue, and I just get slapped in the face for it. This increasingly seems to be because the people I'm trying to show sensitivity toward didn't have any other intention in the first place.

Either shut up about your god, or get used to the idea of atheists expressing their opinion of your religion. In our eyes, your religion really does look pretty ridiculous. I've never encountered anything so laughable in my life. It's true. There are more sensitive ways to put it, but that's the most accurate. That's not the half of it, though. I also think that religion is altogether bad for society. You don't like hearing it, but I've thought about it long and hard. The less religion there is in this society, the better we'll all get along.

Oh, and this: you think that wanting to persuade other people against religion makes this woman "the worst kind of atheist"? HOW DARE YOU?! Did it cross your mind that perhaps this woman thinks that she is doing something good for society? It may be supercilious of her in your eyes, but this woman apparently thinks that she's doing a service to society by convincing people not to believe in God. I would advise her to show more sensitivity toward others, but I honestly find your attitude no less snobbish than hers.

You know, I'm sorry to give you this tirade, here, but what you said upset me a great deal. You said outright that we shouldn't identify ourselves as atheists and that we shouldn't try to bring others around to our views. That was a really horrible thing for you to say. If a society actually put your views in to practice, it would be oppression. When you advocate oppression against me, it is going to make me very angry.
