So are there other aspies out there who aren't the usual INTP? Or am I just plain weird?

I am INTP, but I don't know if I am an Aspie.

However, I think that makes much more sense an Aspie being an IxTJ than an INTP (need of routine and/or restricted interests are not typical of INTPs).

INTP... apparently the "scientist" type. I consider it to be the "analyze everything to death and try to collect all the facts in the universe" type!

I took a version of the Myers-Briggs, so I don't know how accurate it really was. I have been INFP and INFJ (I believe in the past), but when I took it recently it said I was ISFP. How accurate are these tests really? Is it possible to change so often?

I got INFJ originally I think in a real one, but I think I've gotten different ones (possibly those) on online ones too, so I don't know.

I am INTP. I may have a little of INTJ at times, but there are things that make me non-INTJ.

I fit into INTP seamlessly.

ISTJ I just took it.

I'm just starting to take these kind of tests. I'm still unsure of what I am. I can make long term eye contact with no problem. I can crack jokes at parties and have long discussions in groups. But at the same time I think I'd feel best living in a monastary. I don't think my wife would like that. At 41, I can read peoples facial expressions easily enough (I guess?), but anyway...

I find I can be extroverted when neccessary, or when I feel the need to inject knowledge into a situation. But amongst strangers, I keep quite and to myself. I think I'm kinda like a brooding Mr. Spock! The sad part is the brain drain. I'm older and not as challenged as I once was. I think I would score lower than I would have 20 years ago on an IQ test. I'm loosing it!! ! AAAAAHHHHHH!! ! :bounce:

Have any of you had that "Colors" test performed on you? I was actually kind of impressed by it. It's clearly related to what Myers Briggs is doing, but different.

You basically end up with four categories, Blue, Green, Orange, and Gold. Wish I could remember all the specifics, but I was Blue/Green, which is super rare

I am an INTP, but I can sometimes go into conflicting J/P spirals which are, to say the least, frustrating.

You mean
http://www.keirsey.com/

This page explains the Myers Briggs with it...
http://www.keirsey.com/aboutkts2.aspx

Only problem is that when I take Keirsey's color test, I'm green first and then blue, but the Myers Brigss, I'm INTP. It's been that way for me since 1996. (BTW, the INTP would fall under a blue personality).... Edit to add, now I realize the colors flipped. Last time I researched this personality test (which wasn't too long ago as I used it less than 3 years ago for a psychology report), the green and blue flipped. Green was your thinkers and blue was your feelers. So I guess it is right because I would be mainly a blue now.

Edit to add: Whether it was intentional or not, the colors actually resemble a lot of Astrology. In your horoscope, each sign has an element attached to it that helps play a role in what your sun sign says about your personality. The elements are earth, air, fire, and water.

Fire elements are Aries, Leo, Saggitarius. I think the orange personality was to equal fire elements. Fire people are doers, very active people. They are enthusiastic, creative, self assured, and fun. They can also be, on the flip side, bossy, selfish, and have an overdeveloped ego.

Earth elements are Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn. I think they are more like the gold personality. They have their feet planted into the ground. They are responsible, reliable, strong sense of duty, conservative, sensualists. On the flip side, they can be materialistic.

Air elements are Gemini, Libra, Aquarius. I figure them to be the blue ones. They are the thinkers. They analyze, synthesize, and probe. They are communicators. Inventive, clever, see all sides of the equation, objective, idealistic, and fair. On the flip side, they can be pretty cold.

Water elements are Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces...the green ones. They are the feelers. They are intuitive, sensitive, compassionate, understanding, romantic, love to help others, and empathetic. Their bad side, they can be pretty moody and controlling.

My source on the sun signs and elements are http://www.astrology.com/aboutastrology ... /fire.html (there's links at the bottom of that page for each element, and compare to the color results http://www.keirsey.com/handler.aspx?s=k ... c=overview.

Keyrsey test: blue rational. A mastermind as it says
INTJ/INFJ
I really am a rational person. So i guess this is true of me.
But no one listens to me when i tell them my thories. Atleast my familiy does not. They think i am wrong because they are all different from me and they have other thoughts of how things work, that are often mixed with emotions. Like: "That thing bit me. He has to pay"

Do you believe in astrology?

I happen to be a Sagittarius, and I am nothing at all like my sign.
I am an INTP, which contradicts almost every Sag. trait.
Also, I know an Aquarius who is very extroverted and is also a bit of an air head..
I wouldn't say she is analytical, a thinker, or cold.

I don't think I really believe in it. I do read horoscopes at times for fun. My sun sign does kind of match my personality (I'm a libra). But the reason why I know so much about it is because I've used the research in college papers. Only one study has shown a correlation between your sign and personality, but is was very biased in their sample selection (all the participants where chosen from people who wanted free astrological readings). Other studies have tried and haven't found any correlation. Basically, no study has helped prove signs and personality, and no study can really disprove it either at this point. About the only thing Astrology has going for it is the fact that it's relatively ancient. It's older than Christianity. There's a lot of weird things associated to it, but I'm not sure I really buy into it totally. Like astrology is the one to tell you that at the end of the Mayan calendar, something in the sky is aligned which happens only once every 5,000 years. It doesn't mean that the Mayans were correct to believe this alignment opened a passage to the underworld or something, but it does mean that the Mayans were probably influenced by astrological concepts. Like that, I think Kiersey had to have used Astrological concepts as inspirations to separate personality, and then recently (in the last 3 years), he merged the Myers Briggs data into it. It's too weird that the elements are similar to his colors.

I usually get INFJ. But I can get anything with the IN depending on the test and my mood when I take it as I tend to be right on the line with F/T and J/P.
