it does sound like something out of a moive thats for shure

also that thing about VR sending a OT to her house to make her clean isnt true. VR isnt going to care about her messy house unless she works from home and the mess is effecting her home business. she said she worked in a office so i dont see how thats possible

Alright richard, that's enough. You've made your point about Ticker, now let it go. If you persist I'll have to lock this thread. Also, I need to remind you that it is not appropriate to discuss other members.

Regarding the OP, my mother was a hypochondriac - but not just about herself. She was always convinced that something was seriously wrong with us and we spend incredible amounts of time in doctor's offices. I was on so many antibiotics as a kid that I am allergic to almost every class of them now.

As for the Sixth Sense movie, I always thought her stepmother was trying to kill her, not keep her sick.

That was the stepmother? I thought it was her real mother?
How did you know she was the stepmother, not her real mother?

The father even says to her, "You were keeping her sick."

I'm not actually sure, it's been a long time since I've watched the movie. It was my first impression. She, whether the mom or stepmom, didn't look too sad at the girl's funeral.

My parents, who are both psychologists, said it was Münchhausen-by-proxy when they saw the movie. She was keeping her daughter sick in order to get sympathy and attention. I think the fact that her daughter died was probably an accident. And if you notice, they say that the younger daughter had started getting sick. Since the older one had died, the mother moved onto the younger one.

Ok, thanks for clearing it up. :)

do you know anyone like this? i do. why would anyone be like this?

I've only read the first post, so please make allowances if later posters have made similar observations; I may have met, and grown to love, someone who had this, but on-line. Not in "real" life, so I can't truthfully report that that person even existed.

I could say more, and maybe I should, but then, it may not be of interest, nor of relevance.

I'm inclined to state though, and maybe I would have anyway, that someone who has a compulsion to lie, need not be a bad person.
