One things would be noticeable in pictures by both NT people and people with AS.

We don't know how to smile. When people smile, they extend the sides of their mouths towards their ears AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Go to a mirror and try it. It feels strange, but that is how NTs smile. None of us to do that. We looked depressed in our pictures. Compare youself in pictures to NT people. Just about all NTs are smiling.

Not all of us.

When my first grade school pictures came out with that odd little aspie smile, I practiced in the mirror 'til I figured out what I was doing wrong.

You should see my first school picture. I looked like a little turtle or something. Very odd smile. My mom wanted a refund. Never bothered practicing in the mirror, but my smiles for pictures did improve a little after that.

"My mom wanted a refund"

Hahahaha... I found that really funny.

My mom is just as off as me, and a weirdo-enabler at that, so she convinced me that the picture was fine. But it definitely wasn't. Everyone else told me it was the most fake smile they'd ever seen.

I'm going to associate you with a little turtle whenever I see you around WP, now :P

Now I'll have to go find a turtle picture for my avie. :)

What if anything brought you to this idea?

For quite a while, I worked in information technology. I managed to avoid my peers most of the time :), but when I did encounter them, I saw a self-resemblance in many of them that was rather unsettling. Certainly not everyone, but the ones who did resemble me were also certainly aspies, by my reckoning.

Also there have been many occasions when people are sure they recognize me, and I am quite sure they have never met me before. Then they go on and on about how I not only look like the person they know, but how I have the same mannerisms (i.e., quirky AS behavior, I guess). It's like an blithe racist saying, "All you people look alike to me." Except I can totally see why they would say that.

Me neither, I definitely see features being rounded though... like my sister (who's NT) and I both have strong features, but mine are are much rounder than hers... eyebrow arch, nose, eyes, lips, chin, pretty much everything.

that may be due to the differences in DNA that occur between every group of siblings who aren't identical twins, however, and not the fact that I'm an aspie and she's not...

Yeah, I think you nailed it. I've kinda learned to deal with NTs; how to play their game.

But with aspies, the game isn't there. It's just raw truth staring back at you.

One would think that that would be refreshing. But instead, for some reason it is unsettling. Like you have more access to my soul than I am comfortable giving.

oh i know!

the only thing thats useful with that gaze is people listen if you glare at them.>-<

and plus, isn't it true that some of us aspies actually don't have a whole lot of empathy, there for we can see LESS of there souls?

or something?

I definately seem to resemble some fo the physical traits mentioned throughout.

I also want to mention that I have always been told I look a lot younger for my age. The yare usually off by 5-7 years. Like when I was 29, peoplewouldthink im around 22-23. Now that im 34, people say i look like im 26-27.

No, nor do people in general.
