I have no problem with the physical aspect of nudity, but in terms of the potential of people seeing me, I'm a mega-prude. If I had my way no one would see me naked and live to tell the tale. I'm a chauvinist pig though, seeing men nude makes me slightly uncomfortable (not because I'm aroused, mind you, but because it reminds me of other things), while I enjoy seeing women naked. :P

Basically I am totally comfortable in my own skin.

The only reason I am weird about other people seeing me or going out in public is not that I feel uncomfortable, but most people are uncomfortable with nudity and think it is disrespectful.
...
This is another reason I wouldn't go naked in public, cuz I know guys would gawk at me. Not cool.

Sorry for being a perv, but I've love to see you naked. :P

my only problem with universal nakedness [other than exposure to the elements] is an embarrassingly little male thing  that pops up now and then :nerdy:

i know how you feel, but don't feel embarrassed. the only reason you feel that way is because you were taught to.

it's rare for nudists to lust at others because one of the key components of the movement is to combat sexualization of nudity and to advance asexual nakedness.

well, then you should probably work on your thoughts before you go to someplace like a nudist beach/camp/colony.

I guess I'm one of the few aspie people here who's somewhere between prude and wimp. I freak out a little when I accidentally see someone naked, and I would be mortified if someone saw me nude. I don't like how showers at school gyms or even the YMCA don't have stalls. You'd think in this day and age they would since there are little kids and adults in the same room even if they are the same gender. I'm 41, now I'm not supposed to even want to be seen in a bathing suit let alone in the buff. Fat, flab, cellulite, there are reasons why people my age and weight cover themselves up.

Some people have an actual phobia of seeing themselves naked, but the only example I've heard about was Urkel on Family Matters. I also wouldn't recommend curing the phobia the way he did - by stripping in the Hall of Mirrors in a fun house.

I saw a video not long ago that said two-piece bathing suits were actually invented during WW2 because of fabric shortages, but the belly button was usually covered up. Now that's something I really don't get, the big deal about navel exposure when it's something men and women both have and no one freaks when a guy shows it in public.

I suspect that would be an easier thing for women, in general.

Don't feel bad about your body image. You are the way you are. The outside of you doesn't matter as much as what you have in your mind.

I enjoy nudity with loved ones, both for explicitly sexual purposes or just for hanging around...watching TV with someone while naked is a pleasantly intimate experience. As for myself, every now and then (but rarely) my clothes feel irritating and constricting in a sensory way and, if I'm alone, I alleviate it by being nude for a while. Otherwise, I'm always clothed except while bathing. I have absolutely no desire to do any sort of public or private nudist activities.

I hope you don't mind this question, but- have you found that an extended window of time spent naked with your SO has taken some of the zing out of your whoopee life together?

I"m generally fine with nudity and can enjoy it myself; occaisionally in a somewhat sexual way (nude pics on the internet, I do those), but also just for the pleasant feeling of it. Clothes can be a bit constricting and, at times, bloody annoying. Sometimes I just dont want them, really.

People can get a little strange when seeing me though. I'm male, but even when naked have been described as looking very feminine, which doesnt really make a whole lot of sense, but it's happened a whole bunch of times. I've also been approached by guys that "arent gay at all but are still attracted anyway", as they put it, which usually blows a few mental fuses. That one usually means it's time to put the clothes back on, yep.

I've never been to an actual nudist place (the area I live in has NONE near it; I'd have to make a very long drive indeed to do that. Sigh...) but I'd like to try one... I imagine the feeling of wind would be very nice when nude. Or better, swimming. I've never gotten to do that one, but I"ve always really wanted to. It's frustrating, that bit.

Dont mind seeing others nude as well, really. I dont know why so many people do have a problem with it. Though, I dont understand LOTS of things that many people do, so maybe that doesnt say much...

some of you should try the AutHaven event. it's an annual autistic nudist event in Colorado.
