I've never 'seen the new year in'.

There was a 5 or 6 year old next door running by my windows yelling "let the bodies hit the floor"

It was very odd.

And I was at home, though my other half was here.

I spendt New Years eve home, in front of my computer all night.
Reading and playing a game with a friend.
One of the best New Years eve so far.

*Raises hands*

Sadly enough, I spent it by myself. I was dead sure my friends would've called me asking if I wanted to go get pizza or something, but no phone call. If not that, I thought my fellow students in the apartment below mine would've invited me to their crazy New Year's party. No go though. But, The fact that my friends haven't called me since their band's last performance - especially not even telling me a "Happy New Year's" - makes me start questioning the validity of my friendship with them. The only really good thing I can say happened last night was I got a hug from some person (from the party below) who I gave a cigarette to, because they were just done throwing up from having drunk too much, and were in need of something to make em feel a bit better... lol.

I was here alone, but not lonely. I talked to a few friends online.

Better friends online than people I don't get on with in person!! !

Basically just me, my dog, and both of my housemate's dogs listening to the idiots pop off fireworks.

:dj: <-- this was the closest I could find to a "hands down" emoticon

Spent a few hours at my friends' dad's house for a Rock Band 2 party, then we headed over to my GF's cousin's house to watch Dick Clark...who was suspiciously absent from his own program. Go figure.

Back in my drinking days I would not go out, I used to call it "Amateur Night"....
Everyone was out getting demolished.
Still don't go out because of sensory issues and crowds....
Stayed in New Years eve and called it an early night.

I happily watched reruns of the Presidential campaign speeches on C-SPAN. It was too depressing to watch people gathered in Times Square yelling gibberish into the microphone because of mass hypothermia.
