Oh, well, something I won't put my long nose into.
Well, as I said earlier in this thread, I was so fixed on making a poll, that it all came out wrong, so I regret ever to have created this thread. But I've got a lot of nice answers, and ppl on WP seems to have a broad mind regarding to weird posts.
As I also said, trusting everybody's familiar with myrphy's law; "This post will go on forever". I think that from my start at WP I would love to start a long lasting thread. Seems a bit ironic, that this thread should be the one :D

I don't think I've noticed this. I'm rather new and people have usually responded to my topics.
I think it's just that many topics are made so some don't get noticed.
But this one got loads of replies. :P

Thank's spongebob. Did you know that I love spongebob too? He's my favorite cartoon, ever. Think I said so in an earlier post. I also love cow and chicken, if you ever seen them. I know I'm too old for cartoons, but I can't help it. Maybe it's the extreme in it I fancies, they often take things to the limits, where no real people seem to go, even if they want to sometimes?
After this thread statrted to take off, I felt like Donald Duck, when he has overdone things and the chaos from it starts to unfold; "Help, when is the next plane to the north pole?"

Mosez?

Is your avatar Peter Stormare as Gaear Grimsrud in "Fargo"?

Whose got the sweetest disposition? One guess that's who. Whose never ever started an argument? Whose never shown a bit of temperament? Whose never wrong but always right? Who never dreams of starting a fight? Who gets stuck with all the bad luck? No one, but Donald Duck.

Yeah, I too often feel like Donald.

I do also like Spongebob, and MermaidMan is my favorite character. Swear I said that before on here somewhere, but maybe not. But the character most like me would probably be Barnacle Boy, nerdy, bitter, and all the bad things happen to me. I wonder if they were trying to make Spongebob Aspie because he never has the best social skills, people think he's weird, and Jellyfishing is his special interest, he has a strange attachment to his spatula/job, I don't know...I think they were aiming for weird all together, and anything weird just reminds me too much of me anyway.

From my experience, watching people arrive on this site since 2004, it's usually the people who post the most who get the attention.

My suggestion would be to post lots... but don't post spam? I don't know. I don't usually read spam posts.

Another problem is when you find a really great thread way back in the archives but feel guilty about posting into something so old and then everybody sees it as old news.

I find that the same subjects come up over and over again and when I first saw those topics I thought they were really interesting and commented. But how many times do you want to see the same subject. For people who are newer, obviously they're interesting and 'new'.

I was hoping that by coming here that I could escpe some of the public school like behavior of 'ignoring' others or 'destroying' them.

I don't think I know one Autistic person who has not been shunned in some way shape or form. That it should happen here, our place to be Autistic together and respected for that...it makes me sad.

doing some more thread killing, Lemon? - lol

But I agree ^^^ (above)

For example, back a couple of years ago, CR and I had posts about how we have distinctive "accents" that don't really fit in with our location. It turned out that's not uncommon. Keeping that type of thread alive could be helpful for newbies.

Other threads are just fun.

It most likely depends on how interesting your title sounded, the time of day where people are and the relevance to the title once people are into the thread.

I mostly look at the new thread thing on the right side, it doesn't even tell me who started the thread... so it all depends on when things are posted and when I look.

Look at the number of views each thread has, last I looked no thread had under 50 views and it was only about 20 minutes old. If people don't have anything to say on the topic many times they don't respond but still they had at least 50 people look at it.

No offense intended but your post and topic reminds me of a whiny 8 year old who wants their way. If you feel like not responding to someone's post in particular, feel free to not do so. On the other hand I don't believe making a coup will be beneficial.

If someone has broken the rules please alert a moderator and deal with it through the private
messaging system.

I don't mean anybody broke the rule, but I have noticed that some really interesting topics goin down the drain, while other stupid topics get heaps of responses, undeseved.

Well, that does happen. Lots of different people log on in their time zones, and they see something interesting, like when you told me you thought that Oregon would be a nice place to see and I wanted to gush all over you about how wonderful and beautiful it is here, and how you would be so welcome by the people here, because we respect and admire rugged individualist here! ;)

but then there is the laundry, or making dinner, or going or being at work all day that make me forget the interesting topic I read just the other day and where was that thread, and it has already been five page later that I have to read until I see that the topic has nothing to do with what it started out, just that morning, so I just let it go. . .

Threads rise and fall by who has what time to be on them. They self select, too. After a while you will see WP is it's own entity, that has a life of it's own.

no amount of moderation is going to change that.

Merle

I did not rearlize this thread was still going.
I was not speaking of OR the way you put it here. Yes, I would love to explore the pacific north west, including BC in Canada, cause I like the nature there. Never uttered a word of how welcome I might feel or not feel.
