All of that can be explained.

I am still not convinced he intentionally scammed any of you.

Can you not call him or something? Anyone even in his state?

He sounds dangerous

don't worry hale_bopp. again, im sorry for placing any blame on you.

he can't do anything to you or any one of us. if anything he's the one in danger with the cops, especially since the dimwit gave out his home address to a few members here so they can send him money. we have a lot of info on him like his date of birth and zip code (if those are real pieces of information put out). we have his full name as well, and other clues that are better off being discussed through PM's. just remember that he is reading these boards so any type of plan should be discussed through private messages. i have a feeling that eventually in a couple of months every thing will be okay and justice will be served.

No, it really can't. He refers to his "girlfriend" as having stomach cancer in the present tense on August 5, as though the operation had not yet occurred, and asking what the operation will cost. He's being disingenuous at best, and jerking kind people around at the worst. His disappearance speaks volumes. I'm sorry that anyone believed that he was a friend.

No, I can't call him. I don't have his number, nor would I want to if I did.

I'm just pointing out that some of you are jumping to conclusions before you have all of the facts. A good example would be asking about the cost of surgery after it was supposed to happen. Surgeries can be postponed, and many people pay for medical care long after they've received it.

One thing seems quite clear to me, though. This doesn't seem like a scammer's MO. He's using his own name all over the internet and asking/talking about the same situation. Unless you're a moron, everyone knows that's a stupid way to go about scamming people. Sean certainly didn't come across as stupid.

Of course, I'm fully aware that I could be wrong. I just don't see any hard evidence. Just some seemingly inconsistent behaviors and stories thrown together hastily as proof.

If y'all are going to accuse someone of a felony, you should be sure you have solid proof first.

Uh huh... and often times it takes more then one surgery to get all the cancer. What's your point?

I think he really should come back here and do some explaining to set matters straight

If he had any dignity at all he would at least address this thread. He accepted a huge amount of money from strangers. It should be his first priority, not making excuses and posting about playing Xbox on facebook.

If he isn't scamming, he's being immature and inconsiderate about it.

I agree, he has a lot of explaining to do.

maybe he just feels that he has nothing to lose. he seemed really desperate for cash. maybe he didn't expect it to turn into such a huge deal. he just left this website and this thread and hasn't updated anyone who has donated.

i think that maybe he started off intending to visit this gf, whether she had cancer or not. he probably spent the money on other things though, since he has stated many times how his disability check wasn't enough to live on. now that he probably doesnt have enough money to visit her, hes scared to come back and admit that he spend it on other things so he can't visit her yet, or needs more donations. this is just speculation of course, but why would he blatantly ignore this thread? he could at least PM the people who donated.

Would you really expect anything less from a 20 year old?

Like I said, I could be completely wrong. Either way, he's got explaining to do. Even if he hasn't done anything wrong, his behavior has raised questions. Normally, I wouldn't care, but he accepted money from people.

He explicitly stated that the operation had been successfully performed on July 29. It was not postponed. The question on the
5th was in the present tense, implying that everything was still up in the air.

Of course people take a long time to pay for medical treatment. That's normal, these days.

How much do you know about screening for cancer post removal?

Well that sucks, but brain tumors aren't like all other cancers.

My husband had Carcinoid cancer as a child. He's told me all about the monthly screenings to make sure they had gotten it all or that it didn't grow back. It's entirely possible someone would need a second surgery less then a month after removal.
