My parents must have been the best in the world. They figured me out from the start, with no help. I can't recall for sure what age I was (9/10 I guess) when my father bought me my butane cylinder and bunsen burner. He would also take me regularly to the laborotory suppliers where I could (get him to) buy conc hydrochloric and sulphuric acid (pints at a time). I'm not sure he ever realised quite how lethal it all was. I only blew up the concrete garden path once. I think he noticed that... but refrained from comment.

Gaya,

The part about the pets is so true! I love reading about cats, especially about the specific breeds I own: the Siamese, tabby, and Oriental Shorthair. I love Lynx point Siamese the best.

YMBAAI: You have ever gotten on a public transit system not to go anywhere in particular, but just for the enjoyment of riding the transit system itself, and you spent an inordate amount of time on it!

..BTW, cool pic of a DC metro-rail train! :D

You might be an Aspie if your books are placed in Alphabetical order and your room is messy.

You might be an Aspie if you file random information in your closet.

You might be an aspie if: You feel happy that the local charity shop lets you organise their book section by genre and then alphabetise it. :D

Lau,

YEP, That is part of the recipe for NITRO GLYCERINE! YIKES!

YMBAAI: After hearing someone say that a certain organ damage is caused by a certain disease, you explain that the disease is only ONE possible cause of the problem, HOW it causes the problem, other problems it causes, and WHY! When asked if you have the problem, you truthfully say NO.

YMBAAI: the only reason why they didn't ask you "Are you a doctor?" is because they knew you weren't.

I like Cash in the Attic, but my parents don't.

You tell yourself that today you will read a book or play a game of chess, only to find that you are still obsessively thread checking at 6am in the morning.

I did that about a week ago on the science, math & computers forum.
The thread was "Tesseract 47". It was my 53rd post and 53 has a mathematically
significant relationship to 47.

that begins with 41 and ends at 1601.

You find yourself noticing the patterning in stonework as you walk around.

You walk into a lamppost because your attention is on the clouds or something else interesting that isn't straight ahead of you.

You need music to connect to your emotions.

Heh, my son would think that's so cool... after reading Hitchhiker's Guide and getting into 42, he noticed that the eight digits of pi beginning from 242,422 places after the decimal point are 42424242. But he's only 9, so the primes will have to wait.

1729, y'all.

At nine he can start with 41+2=43, 43+4=47, 47+6=53 etc.... for each prime simply add the next
multiple of 2 until you get to 1601+80=1681 (1681=41^2) :!: :) :) :)

That is so true. Everyone knows me because of my older brother. I'm cool by association.

Guilty as charged.
