It's aspie cool to simply be yourself wherein; you express yourself honestly and truthfully not, lying to yourself or others but, merely being whom you are and nothing more or less..

it's Aspie cool to...

- like Weird Al Yankovic
- like "Mystery Science Theater 3000"
- be an unashamed Muppet fan (if you are one)
- pursue being a linguistics geek (or a "geek" in anything for that matter, lol :P )
- make obscure jokes that only your closest friends (and possibly other Aspies) understand
- know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide Roman numerals (and even more so to LIKE doing that!!)
- read the dictionary for fun (never read the ENTIRE dictionary myself, but I've read certain parts of it for fun - in particular I love the Indo-European etymology section!!)
- know the meanings of obscure words and want to use them more than you do "common" words
- memorize the capitals of not just every state, but every country as well (bonus points if you memorize the capitals of distant, obscure islands!!)

It's aspie cool to make a video for pi day of your rugby team, with each scene being the length of a digit of pi (in seconds), with 314 scenes. And have it be the team's official season highlights vid.

It's Aspie cool to tell your Careers teacher that you intend to make all your money by going on Jeopardy! (and have her believe you).
It's Aspie cool to have the same haircut for 18 years.
It's Aspie cool to be very excited that your friend has invited you to her Star Trek-themed birthday (and that she has cast you as a Vulcan, because you are one).
It's Aspie cool to be pulled over by random children in the hallways at school because they want you to spell difficult words for them.

It's Aspie cool to have the entire works of Brian Eno and his collaborators on your iPod. Bonus points if that's all you listen to.

...making up funky plurals that follow a parallel (yet incorrect) grammar structure. Examples: the plural of moose is "meese," and more than one Starbucks are "Starbices"

...go off on long associative-based tangents. Example: someone talks about "their kitty," and this makes you think of someone named Kitty that you knew in high school who was really into mushrooms, and then you think about how nice it would be to have mushrooms for dinner, which makes you realize that it's nearly dinnertime... which makes you respond to the "kitty" comment with, "That reminds me... how about we have dinner?"

...think you're less affected by AS than you actually are.

8O I totally do that! It also means I don't hear a lot of what they say after the comment that starts the tangent.

It's aspie cool to make yourself available to see people on your own terms.

It's aspie cool to finish the last half of that sentence you started 3 days ago, without context, and for your aspie friend to understand perfectly.

It's aspie cool to try storebought clothes on, hate the seams/fit/feel, and knit something yourself instead.
