One of my closest friends is also on the spectrum, but doesn't fully know it yet, and over the last few years of hanging out we've hugged countless times. It's not a sexual thing, it's more.. just the way he is - the "huggiest," person I know. He'll exchange a hug with friends, coworkers, clients etc just the same as others may say hello or goodbye or shake hands etc. It's rather nice. I enjoy it as well, and have been told I'm good at it by multiple people.
My hug buddy (NT) is the exact same way. He never loses an opportunity for a bear hug. Anyone, anywhere, any reason any time! I think it's awesome.
yeah i get hugs from a lot of people now that i attend group therapy... surprisingly some of the guys there are total huggers... which is nice... especially in colder nights when they wear leather
