"Big words" are only "big" because other's curiosity, intellect, or hunger for knowledge is small.
Unfortunately we live in a world of 30 second sound bytes and some NTs have short circuited their intellectual capibility by re-training their mind to function in 30 second increments. Considering the broad generalized inputs they utilize, one would be led to think that they would want concise words with great depth. Unfortunately, though, this is not the case since it requires a discipline commitment greater than 30 seconds to master such "big" words at the onset.
I wish you luck, however Callista, though I suggest you abandon your hope that most NTs will adapt and change to be supportive. You are not part of their tribe / community. You are one of us and as such always run the risk of being misunderstood, criticized, and non-conformist. Some will be there for you and love you for being you; the rest can bugger off.
My opinion. Take what you want and leave the rest.
