Totally agree, focus on those strengths and use them.

To be proud of something it must be with something that is gained and accomplished, and with something that has some merit.
So, I'm not proud, nor bad about it either. It's just a way of being.

So, if you were one of those lucky women who just happened to have a nice figure through the luck of the draw, are you telling me you wouldn't be proud of it? I don't think so!! !

Why would I? It's not something that can be chosen or that I've done.

To be proud of something, you don't have to have done it. I'm proud of my city of Sydney but I had absolutely nothing to do with its formation. I didn't make it but I'm still proud to live in it. I'm also proud to be Australian and I had no choice in that either. That's just silly. You can be disappointed with stuff you were born with and had no say in. Why then, can't you be proud of stuff you have that you didn't bring about? The answer is, you can. Point - set - match ! !! Thank You!! ! :)

You have your opinion and I have mine. I don't see why to make a fuss about it.

Well it's difficult to know for sure how many of my admirable characteristics can be attributed to asperger's syndrome, but I think my interests, passion, logical outlook on things and my dedication could be related to its core symptoms. There's also the pleasure of knowing that it gives me a different outlook on the world and partly defines who I am.

What makes me proud to be an Aspie is the fact that I'm not an NT.

NT's are cruel, heartless creatures and I really wish I could go home! I am so fed up with living amongst them. I don't belong here :( I get nothing out of them but pain.

Not all neurotypicals are terrible people you know. You just don't understand them. We are weary of people we don't understand but that doesn't make them bad people.

Not all neurotypicals are the same you know.

I feel proud to be an Aspie whenever I hear of anybody attacking us (e.g. Autism Speaks). I'm slightly proud of some things about myself, but I'm not sure that those things are entirely down to my autism. I like myself for being:

a reasonably good musician,
a fairly clear and detailed thinker,
diligent and tenacious when solving problems,
able to communicate well in writing,
able to see things that most other people don't notice,
relatively autonomous and hard to brainwash,
unimpressed by authority, hierarchies and heroes,
caring, supportive and respectful towards my loved ones,
courteous,
relatively wholesome,
protective and compassionate towards animals and the vulnerable,
frugal,
relatively non-aggressive,
relatively honest.

But I'm wary of pride. I prefer not to weigh myself up as particularly good or bad, but being human, it seems I can't help it. Self-esteem is unfortunately very important.

They are to me. They only care about themselves and they only care about you as long as it doesn't tax them. They like to make out they care, but become too much of a burden on them and they'll drop you like a hot potato. Even family will dump you if you become too burdensome.

As the old expression goes, we're born alone, we die alone but my additive to that is we live alone.

No matter how much you think someone loves you, they've got their limits and they'll drop you as soon as you become too much trouble.

We're truly all alone and I'm so pleased I prefer my own company because I can thumb my nose at humanity and I couldn't care less.

I know that it is grasping, but I am proud that I share traits with another presumed Aspie, Thomas Jefferson. Bill Gates? Pfft! Jefferson jetted circles around Gates and his kind.

Okay, seriously? I appreciate that Aspies are "a bright thread in the rich tapestry of life" according to Tony Attwood.
