My special interest is:

Linguistics
Mathematics
Geology
Cosmology
History
Biology
Economics
Finance
Disease
Medicine
Science
Art
Genealogy
Genetics
Architecture
And many more areas

Any and all topics in this areas interest me, no one area more than another, I can spend so much time looking up random information on countless topics each day. I find the universe and everything in it so fascinating. One day I can be looking up information on a Hong Kong Zhuhai Macau bridge, and hour later I could be reading about radium, and then later I could be reading about the Austronesian people. I try not to spend more than 1 or 2 hours a day reading random information though.

Fishkeeping. Monsterfish!

Nutrition. Eating like a caveman!

Music. Like bicycling guitarist, I will play the same song incessantly for weeks on end, and then go back for more. I had an Audioslave CD in my car for a year and would put each song on repeat, sometimes for weeks.

I'm in my 20's, and I've always loved animation and mathematics since I was a kid.

My special interest switch often. I will intensely learn as much as I can about something and then switch to something else. The areas I I always revisit is learning about the unknown. Ancient ruins and civilizations, The Universe, Psychology,

When I was young I had a really weird interest - fire hydrants. I had this sheet of paper where I drew every model of fire hydrant that I could find. Whenever I found a new model I was very excited and hastened to add it to my paper. Thankfully I'm over that now lol

After that I didn't really have any interests until some years later, when I got into quantum mechanics. I spent a while educating myself on this, reading books by Richard Feynman and the like. My interest in this dropped after a couple months, though I still pursue this interest a little.

My main interest right now is computers. Mostly software related things, I've been messing around with a bunch of programming languages, learning to use Linux / Unix etc. I'm taking a class on building computers, I'm not quite old enough to get a job yet but I'm hoping that soon I can be hired doing this. So I'm kind of excited about that :D

That's about it I guess

Birth-6 years old: I was completely obsessed with reading. I loved it so much I refused to play or do anything else. All I would do was look at words all day. I was reading/repeating (maybe not comprehending) things by the age of 3, and by the time I was 4 you could bring me a book and I could actually read the words.

6 years old: My interest narrowed down a little into reading about bugs. I had one bug book, and I would reread it multiple times a day to make sure I hadn't missed anything.

7- about 9 years old: A lot of kids like Harry Potter, but I doubt anyone loved it as much as I did! I owned all the merchandise and Lego's I could get my hands on. I reread the books so many times that if you gave me a sentence on a page, I could finish the rest of the page from memory. I made up my own Harry Potter game I played all day long, and I even wished Harry Potter was real (I knew perfectly well it wasn't!). I was Hermione for Halloween, and whenever my friend came over we would play the game outside with my cloak. It was a great interest! :D

9-10 years old: I loved Cabbage Patch Kids. A lot of little kids like dolls, but I was completely in love with these dolls I had. I never left the house without my doll called Brett, and places I couldn't bring my dolls to I imagined them being there with me. All day long at school all I would do was write stories about my Cabbage Patch Kids (as if they were alive- again, I knew they weren't). Since I didn't really have any friends at the time, I played board games with my Cabbage Patch Kids. As soon as I came home I would play with them for hours. I would even tuck them into bed and get them all changed in the morning (I had like 30 dolls). A lot of this stuff could be a "normal interest" for a child, but what really makes me think it was one of my special interests is that I basically thought about the dolls all the time and I had to take my favorite one with me wherever I went.

12.5-now: I skipped a few years because the special interests I had during that time were not really good for me to have. I don't consider them special interests because of the pain they caused me today. But I have a few special interests now that come and go.

Stampy Cat: This interest is one of my favorite ones to have. I know so much about Stampy and I have watched so many of his videos. I own a large collection of Minecraft Merchandise (if you didn't know, Stampy is a gaming YouTuber who mostly plays the game Minecraft). I blab on and on a lot about Stampy to people who are just there, even if they have no interest in Stampy themselves. When I get interested in Stampy, I just feel so much happier and joyful inside. I also carry my Minecraft wolf toy everywhere I go, as well as my plastic iballisticsquid (Stampy's best friend). Stampy is awesome! :D

America's Got Talent: this is probably my most favorite interest to have (even more than Stampy!). I absolutely love America's Got Talent. I watch all the episodes over and over again, sometimes up to 10-15 times! I love answering my friend's (same friend that put up with the Harry Potter interest) questions about AGT, and I love talking at her about AGT. It's almost all I think about all day when I am interested in it. I love to know every single contestant, their name, what they do, their age, and where they live. I just kind of learn that naturally from watching all the episodes so many times. I'm getting AGT merchandise soon :D , and one of my favorite books is Don't Touch Me by Howie Mandel. AGT is also the only show I watch, but it is the best show ever, IMO  !

Autism: I have been interested in autism for quite a while now. When I am interested in it, I read every single article and watch every single video I can find on it. Every single thing I learn in school is connected to autism in some way. Evolution? Autistics have to adapt. Idioms? Autistic people have trouble understanding those sometimes. Even "life lessons" we learn through symbolism can be connected to autism somehow. When I say connected, I mean that all I think about is autism and whenever I learn something, I try to relate it back to it. I reread books over and over multiple times a day (that seems to be a pattern here) and I can give lengthy monologues all day on it. It's what brings me joy, all I think about, and what I know the most about. I'm still learning, of course! :D

Those are all my more major special interests that I have had. I have had other ones as well. I don't mean to brag by anything I write in this post- just trying to show how intense special interests can get for me. :D

My special interests tend to fluctuate throughout the years, but one I’ve always had is geography. I would look up all of these obscure locations on the globe as a kid, and I actually competed in the geography bee in middle school - going to state one year.

I’m currently fixated on DNA testing. I got a test for my birthday and I like playing with my data on various sites. I’ll talk to you about that stuff all day long.

I have lots.

Some of my interests are different cultures, religions, languages, history, science, philosophy, all sorts of fiction especially fantasy, video games, paranormal junk, astronomy, medieval times, ancient Rome, Japan, architecture, nature, etc.

I cycle between them and constantly find new ones.

My main ones can probably grouped together as probably languages and methods of communication, religions cultures and spirituality, science and philosophy. The others kind of branch from those.

Mine are:

History (not just notable events, but other categories as well), documentaries, anime, music (mostly from the 1970's, 80's, and 90's), and vintage items.

Science (job and hobby)
Collecting fossils (mostly oceanic: love pyritized ammonites, ichthyosaurs/plesiosaurs, anything from the Ediacaran period)
Collecting antiques (mostly decorative, e.g., ceramics, metals: Victorian, Edwardian, art nouveau, art deco)
England (I'm an anglophile, love BBC, cream tea, etc.)
History (especially anything relating to the Enlightenment and later Victorian science)

Its complicated. I love doing research...the problem is what i like to research varies depending on my favourite subject of the day/week/month/year or sometimes decade.

In short my research subjects can change but I can happily do research from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed and have fun doing it.

Research is the love of my life and if research were a man I'd have married it.

PN i sometimes do other things such as arts and crafts, long distance cycle riding/bikepacking and photography but even those things can lend themselves to doing research sometimes!
