This thread is wild! I had no idea that everyone had "stim toys". And I never thought of the things I fiddle with as such a thing. But....you're totally right. I have stim toys just like everyone here.

-- I like things that change shape and that I can squish -- clay, bean bags and so on. I like being able to see how perfectly symmetrical I can make it and then I'll mess it up and start over.
-- I like things I can twirl around my fingers. I used to have a broken length of Mardi Gras-style beads. I would twist it around my fingers and then unroll it and do it all again, twist it in a spiral, etc. I like playing with chains too. My favorite are those little ball chains that go on key rings and dogtags. They roll and slink around my fingers really well. Lengths of ribbon are good too.
-- Pieces of paper are good for folding and for tearing apart into little pieces. I don't do the last one anymore. Drove my mother nuts and she made me stop.
-- If I don't have anything else, ink pens are my toy of choice. I'm either clicking the pen or twiddling the cap or doodling or scribbling all the time.
-- If I have jewelry on, I'll twist my ring back and forth or fool with my earrings, taking them on and off.

This little guy was one of my FAVORITE stim toys when I was little:

Image

I was always tossing him around and playing with him in the bathtub cuz I liked the way his "fur" fanned out when he was fully submerged. I think I also have a Koosh duckie somewhere, too....I liked these little animals (and Koosh balls in general) bcuz they felt cool and they generally looked cute and friendly. I also had other Koosh ball guys...a Koosh guy dressed as a rabbit, a boy and girl Koosh, a Koosh pencil topper, and even a Koosh ball in the shape of Tigger.

 I remember Koosh toys very well. I had several myself but the main problem lies in the fact that I'd play with them so much and so hard, the little rubber "hairs" would break off, leaving me with an irregular rubber ball. I never had animals though, just the regular Koosh balls. Trolls were interesting too (though someone called me gay for having them when I was a kid).

I keep the ring of 18 balls on my key chain or in my pocket and the cube sits on my desk at home.

Oh my gosh, does anyone remember those awesome things that were like all the little pins/nails/metal things that you could stick your hand, foot, or face into and it would be imprinted there? And then you could turn it over so all the pins were flattened and you could do it again? I used to LOVE those, tho I totally forget what they were called at the moment. I actually used to put my face into the one I had...the pins in it weren't sharp at all, and felt nice and cool on my face....I think I also loved the sensory input of the pins softly pressing into my face, too. :D

I'm assuming by the rest of the answers that we are talking about fidgets?

I have a tangle that is green that I like that my BFG got me, but I lost my favorite tangle, it was called "tangle relax therapy" and it had squishy bits and soft bumps... I need a new one..

I also have a klixx that's black and red.

and then there is Gregory, he's not really a fidget, (he's a bear!) but sometimes I put him in my purse when I'm nervous.. I got him in kindergarten..
I'd probably bring my blankie places but that's not as socially acceptable as my bear it seems.

I can fiddle with the corners of pillows for ever.

Make a little dent at the point & then pop it back out.

For me, it can be pretty much anything. I particularly like anything with at least one hinge type movement, like these old pistons from one of my RC car engines.

Now that I have my magnet implant. I'm gonna order THESE magnets to play with.

I have a feeling these magnets are gonna be my new primary stim toys

My favourite right now is this little black susuwatari (soot ball). It's in my jacket pocket and I can always squeeze it. I'm sorry I don't have a better picture of him. http://www.luca.fi/item.php?item=489

I love these:

See hereImage

We have them at work and I happily spend hours sitting with children playing with them. I find them fascinating. Similarly, those things which are clear or coloured plastic blocks with water in them, and oil/goo of some sort drips out into the water making patterns. I also like anything with slowly changing lights or moving water.

Image

I'm going to get some soon. But to relax at home, I use this video. I watch it in HD in a dark room and just zone out, watching the intricate details of how the water and trees move. I also watch my fish tank which calms me a lot.

I have a pair of baoding chinese balls. They are heavy and have a small gongs inside producing a beautiful sound and vibration. Like this:
