I often wonder this because I am on he ASD and a lot of people view me as a complete idiot for some unknown reason. I would blurt out the most random things and I don't know that much and I am slow at reacting to situations so when I do respond I say really dumb things. I get people saying I'm a idiot or that I'm not that bright. I also have learning problems so people will say that I'm. An idiot I take it seriously. I take a lot of insults toharshly since I am a sensitive person. Online I would go onto other webforums other than here and I get a lot of comments saying what a stupid thing I posted. So I would like to know how do people view you out of these two?
I have some quite similar experiences to you, especially the web forum bit struck me as a similar experience. I used to benefit in my school days from the type of grades I consistently attained there, causing everyone to see me as a genius. This doesn't happen nowadays because I'm not in a school setting now. Meanwhile, you'll have to take my word for it that I cannot make a post on almost any web forum other than here without people replying I am ignorant. Even though I'm interested in the subject matter of the forum, mostly that's because I do hold very outlandish, personal beliefs which I occasionally feel the need to share on forums online. To be honest it's probably a signal in no uncertain terms that ignorance and eccentricity do shine through in me, when I'm pitched into mainstream environments with mainstream people, and as a consequence I absolutely require an Aspie environment in order to be myself. After all WrongPlanet is the only web forum where I feel I can be myself, even though I have other reasons why I've reduced my posting here to almost zero.
