I'm dreaming very frequently, and sometimes those dreams feel like they go on for hours. They're also usually pretty intense. Whenever I remember them long enough, they're usually some weird mix of the last few weeks.. movies I watched, games I played, stuff like that.
But there are some very weird dreams... not nightmares, but when I wake up from them and think about what was in the dream I sometimes feel strangely weak/disturbed/sad.. for the entire day. Next day, most of the memory is usually gone.
I've been having some violent dreams lately, and I don't even know why. In one dream, I attacked a random guy with a knife without any reason.

I seldom remember my dreams but most of the ones I do remember are anxiety driven - being chased, teetering on a rickety bridge over a vast chasm etc. To be honest it is probably best that I don't remember them.

I had my first lucid dream a few days ago. I have a sinus infection, so I had taken some benedryl to get to sleep but I could not seem to totally doze off. My mind racing on as usual, but after a few minutes I realize I had started to dream & was fully aware of that. I tried to alter some stuff, which worked. I also tried to re-direct the flow of the situation. Seemed to work, but I fell a bit more under & lost it.
I tried this back in college without success. And here, I do it without even trying. Pretty neat actually. Like daydreams but on steroids. LOL

Sincerely,
Matthew

My dreams can be too weird to describe. Like starting off in a scene from "The Little Mermaid", then going to some pirate ship battle, then a western, then a space adventure, etc. I tell my friends some of these dreams and they say, "What drugs have you been taking, and can I have some?"

So far, I've only had one psychic dream, and it was when my high school was doing Phantom of the Opera for their spring production, and one of the drums majors during my senior year was playing the female lead. It turned out my college was doing it. Hey, at least I got the production right!

I also have those running-late dreams, especially when I have somewhere important to be the next day (ex: therapy, church [when I'm on the media team], big exam for school, etc.). I'm always thankful when I wake up, and it's either way earlier than I need to wake up or right on time.

My dreams involve middle and high school, friendships, dating, complex fantasy worlds, and special interests.

Middle and high school - I dreamed about being in middle and high school where I imagined myself being actually happy with peers and having negative encounters with peers and authority figures. For example, I dreamed that I was actually threatening peers and challenging authority figures because I had bad chemistry with them in real life.

Also, I dreamed about pushing a school bully off his chair to stand up to him and ask him what he would do about it. I also remember one funny dream where my older brothers were in my former middle school's library and a girl who I have a crush on said hi to me and I couldn't help but laugh and smile.

Friendships - I dreamed about that there were clubs in college and I felt I was part of it, which was probably a cosplay and media culture. That dream made me think I'm not destined to live an isolated life as there were people who will accept me for who I am and might accept my friendship.

Dating - The same dream I mentioned earlier that there was a girl who was interested in me and wanted to date me despite my autism and impaired social skills. In it, I introduced her to my mom and the rest of my family.

Complex world - One funny dream, I was in local supermarket and I saw SpongeBob and I briefly glared at him. There were dreams being involved in worlds with video game characters.

Special interests - One dream I could remember is when I played the classic Super Nintendo game Super Punch Out and I breezed through my first match with Gabby Jay and delivered rapid punches to him.

My dreams can be one of few things: silly, random, happy, sad, creepy, and demonic. My dreams are mostly random, putting me in a variety of different places and situations. I can be in a school in one dream, a bank with another. I can have dreams in places I used to be (old school, house, etc), or strange places I've never been to. There can be many things going on at once, and many crazy things happening in one dream. My dreams look like a cross between reality and 3D, which may or may not have cartoon characters. I usually have the ability to float, fly, and sometimes have logical thoughts. A good example is a dream I had a few months ago.

These young adolescents/older children and I were trying to get to some classroom together. We managed to find a door. Since it was too small, I decided to use my mophing abilities to make it bigger. I grabbed the door, stretched it, and it changed into some weird chrome-looking thing like a huge glob Silly Putty. It had a weird cord stuck inside it, and I wasn't sure how to fix it. I ended up floating around and speaking gibberish, which didn't solve the problem at all.

See? The dream was kind of silly and weird at the same time. This type of dream is usual for me.

My dreams are the exact opposite. They're highly fictional, illogical, and just plain silly.

My dreams are very realistic. I'll do things like not remember whether I'd fed my cat yet that day or not because I am not sure whether the memory is from a dream. I've had a dream where it took more than 6 months to find out it was a dream, because I thought the conversation in it had occurred and it apparently hadn't.

A few of my dreams have had those concepts, except they have a lot more going on. I kept having dreams where I end up getting lost until I had a dream when I managed to get to my destination.

Here wrote:
The examples of dreams I'll list here likely relate to being on the Autism Spectrum as an adult; that is examples of dreams seem to indicate the dichotomies amongst feelings regarding people, art, inanimate objects, and movie theater, TV, Radio, and yes Internet content.

* Dreams of all-night movie-theater shows (complete with clocks/timers) with movie-plots containing good continuity. Sometimes dreams involve being both the audience and the participant in the movie; as well as exiting the theater at the "crack of dawn." NOTE; I've never attended (or plan to attend) an all-night movie show!

* Dreams involving mazes (endless hallways); Again, dream content includes people, and objects, as well as the feeling of never-ending searching (sometimes searching, after a few tries, for a resonably clean washroom).

* Dreams (or most commonly that half-asleep/half-awake state) of Abstract-art images e.g, collage images, sometimes faces. I recently had a dream involving an Abstract painting of a small crowd; such as an audience in a theater. I found myself adding special-effects that gave the painting a hazy, "myserious effect of sorts" to a still wet painting.

Anybody on the Austim spectrum note similar dreams?

Thank-you

I have anxiety dreams mostly. Or dreams that are so strange and surreal but take place in familiar settings that they make me feel uneasy upon waking.

I've a wide variation of dreams. Most of them are usually extremely weird which would cause me to wake up bewildered. I'll mention some common themes in them that I can recall.

Schools - It is usually schools that I had studied at in my life. This is one of my more reoccuring dreams where a lot of different things would happen.

Phobia related - These are dreams where I would see spiders, snakes, wasps or other bugs, and I was flying without wings in a few dreams. I would recall panicking about it.

Special interests - Happens a lot of the time.

Death/Murder - I occasionally dream about people dying; those I know, unknown people, or myself. My mother ends up dying more often than my other family members, so I don't know if it's some kind of underlying resentment.

Fictional characters - Another common dream theme of mine. It is depending on my current, strong special interest.

Being ignored/an outcast/accused for something - I think this is something that is carried on from my waking state, of how I am treated by people in my life. Not everybody does it, but many do.

Arrested by the police - I have had several dreams where the police would arrest me for breaking the law, or creating chaos/destruction.
