OP posts:
That NT brains are normal, and AS brains are broken.
Our brains cause us to not comprehend.
Our brains are the cause of social problems.
And that's why we can't have jobs, or friends, or girlfriends and boyfriends.
Thinks we desperately desire being NT.
Thinks being an AS person is an embarrassment.
Thinks we have extreme ego because of some defence mechanism.
Would want to swap out the faulty AS brain, to replace it with an NT one out of pity.

Has the name: "I Beat Autism".
Wants to know if anyone is upset.

Mods? Are you there? What the hell are you guys doing? The troll is wasting everyone's time. People will post here, rather than have actual discussions. The obvious troll is obvious. It shouldn't be so hard to spot the trolls. Get out your ban hammer, and just perma-ban the trolls when you see them. Problem solved.

If you don't ban the trolls, they're just going to look at this and think "oh look, an easy target for trolling", and it will just attract even more trolls.

It played out exactly like I thought it would, but I won't even call a troll "a troll" because I'm slightly too polite. Instead I will herewith refer to him as The Entity Known as IBeatAutism.

A troll, IMO, would NEVER do that----he would NEVER admit that he might've made a mistake----he would continue to fight / continue to pull people's strings.

I feel that the best way to find-out if a person is a troll, is to ignore them----they'll QUICKLY show their "colors", if they're a troll, by doing something like starting 3, 4, 5, or 6 threads, trying to get someone's attention / push someone's buttons.

On a site where so many people DEMAND PROOF----the fact IS, we have none!

Well...he is either a troll, or he is an idiot.

So in effect you have just accused him of being the later.

If you're right than...I guess we all should apologize to him, and then...tell him that we all...feel SORRY for him because he is destined for a lifetime of misery because he is so mentally handicapped.

Yeah I guess if Dumbledore is right then we should feel "sympathy" for him being such an idiot :)

Seconded.

All those in favor ... ?
Third

I thought about it, and I don't think we should ban him just yet. It seems like this individual is autistic, but in denial, like I once was.

That person represents the way most people who think about Autism think about autism. To be a troll the person would have to have a good knowledge of nuerodiversity thinking which requires some effort and fairly rare. The username is an indication of this.

Whatever the intent I am glad this happened because this persons pity of us got some of us stop self pitying and put the blame where it belongs.

@IBeatAutism.

If by chance you are not a troll:

I'd ask for a username change because the one you chose seems quite arrogant on a forum such as this one.

If by chance you are a troll:

I'm not going to feed you! :geek:

IMO, all you have is each person's INTERPRETATION of what the OP was saying. It would be no different, IMO, than if someone posted the URL to an article, and everyone who chose to, read it and gave their opinion of what they felt the author was saying.

For some reason, the phrase "I feel sorry for you", has become, like, taboo, or something----I don't get it.....

Where I come-from, the phrase "I feel sorry for you" just means the person is trying to show compassion. Grant it, the OP didn't, maybe, word it real well, but.....

Well, if several people have made the same interpretation of the same source material, then there might be something to it. After all, it isn't just me that has flung the word 'Troll' in this thread.

But since I've just had supper, I'm feeling a bit more mellow. So I'll "take it back" and ask the OP to explain himself further.

Really. How often do WP members get a chance to say, "Fnord is backing down and being nice"? Now's your chance.

(Don't worry ... this isn't a sign of the impending Apocalypse.)

You did it twice tonight. What did you have for dinner?

Where I come from, the phrase "I feel sorry for you" is always followed by a snarky comment regarding someone's slovenly appearance, low intelligence, lack of manners and wealth, body odor, or some other comment intended to belittle and deprecate the recipient, who is thus deserving of only scorn and pity - never friendship.

Where I come from, "I feel sorry for you" is never meant to be helpful.

What if I were to say to you "Campin' Cat..I feel sorry for you for you being such a loser."?

Even if you take "I feel sorry for you" to mean its face value original meaning -how grateful would you be for hearing that?

Well- thats what the OP just said to you (and all of us).

But also the phrase has trended towards being a put down. Years ago my mom even had to tack on a disclaimer when she said she "felt sorry" for a common aquaintence who was having difficulties (whom she really did have compassion for) that she didnt "mean it as a put down".

You can say "I am sorry to hear that" when someone says their mom died. But yeah come to think of it...when I hear "I feel sorry for..." the speaker is usually talking about a third person whom we both agree is a douchebag.

What if the comment wasn't MEANT to be snarky, but was taken that way by the recipient because the recipient didn't feel good, about THEMSELVES?

A person can't oppress another person, depress another person, put-down another person, unless the other person allows what the person said / did to depress them, etc. Now, obviously, there are extenuating circumstances----for instance, if someone belittles someone else every day, for YEARS----but, I don't see how that should be allowed to happen, from ONE post, from someone we've never "met", before. Also, someone could argue "Well, everybody is always putting us down"----but again, what if they aren't? What if we (and I'm including myself in the "we", cuz I've gotten defensive, myself, before) are projecting our own miserable feelings about ourselves (at the times we feel "not-as-good-as") into another person's words / intentions, and blaming them for making us feel poopy, about ourselves? We are not going to blame OURSELVES, generally speaking, for the way we feel, because that would mean we would have to admit, to ourselves, that we're wrong----and, no one wants to do that (NOT that no one can). No one can make us do, anything (again, there are extenuating circumstances).
