Honestly I think the "boring" perception I have of them is less that they don't have interests, but more that they will talk about anything. They enjoy socializing for its own sake - it doesn't have to have any "substance" to it. Like I would love to talk to them about their feelings and philosophies, and I would even hear out their interests that don't overlap with mine knowing that it's something that makes them happy. But I don't want to sit and talk about the banalities of life. That's not fun to me me, but I guess part of what makes us different is that just sitting and chatting is not intrinsically rewarding to us.
Actually a lot of NTs I know are the opposite of this. They are greedy, selfish, unfriendly, selective about whom they chat to.
