The amphetamine/coke-like drugs are the Holy Grail.

I asked my doc for some honest-to-goodness speed (Ritalin et al) but he offered me a dirty, brain-damaging antipsychotic instead.

:P Ive had potentially fatal reactions to both so I just stay away from the lot. Which is hard with chronic nausea. Most effective nausea drugs are in the anti-psychotic family. They eventually had to put me on ondansetron which is normally only used for chemo patients and stuff, and the prior auth paperwork can get interesting. But since I've been hospitalized for this and I have documented anaphylactic reactions to several anti-psychotics they have little choice.

The only drugs I'm taking right now are Novolin-R, Lantus, Lisinopril/HCTZ and atenolol for my diabetes and blood pressure. I take niacin and fish oil for my cholesterol and mood swings.

I used to take hydrochlorothiazide and atenolol for hypertension but since I used diet to get my inflammation under some control [and reduced my blood pressure] I only take a token dose of the atenolol to control my free-floating anxiety and intentional tremors. I take diclofen for a shot SI joint in my back plus occasional flexeril for spasms here and there. about 8 years ago was the last time I was on any pmeds, I was on Strattera for about 2 years, it worked well enough [got rid of anxiety, enabled me to be calm yet alert, organized my thinking] but since group health stopped covering that med, I had to do without it, with variable results. now and then I take the little blue pill. finally, I take lovastatin, a statin cholesterol reducer. I also take lots of supplements such as:

*cinnamon extract *turmeric/curcumin *maca *testofen [extract of fenugreek] *dhea *multivitamin/multimineral caplet *vitamin C 500mg *fish oil 1000mg *milk thistle

Levythyroxin, Sertraline, Alprazolam, and extra Vitamins B and D besides a multi. Valerian on rare occasions if chamomile won't settle me down.

The only meds I am on constantly is Azathioprine, for my colitis and Nuvaring. I have some as needed meds, perscription and non.

I've been on tons of meds over the years, I try to avoid them now. I am too sensitive to side effects.

A whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers.

But seriously... zopiclone, pregabalin and a couple of sedating antihistamines each night, oxazepam occasionally, lamotrigine daily (according to the current kooky psych theory that my depression is not unipolar, but the little-known but apparently common "bipolar II").
