We were all somewhat different.

and I am not quite sure of who has a formal diagnosis and who doesn't.
I want to try to get an HMRA evaluation really soon...as maybe that will be the key to my getting a proper diagnosis...or non-diagnosis..or what-have-you, but for all practical purposes,
I count as self-diagnosedAS..or...possibly PDD-NOS....with pretty severe ADD (diagnosed)...hence the big...super messy warehouse....

I did notice lots of stimming..... :)...and if anyone was making eye contact...it wasn't me...but for more than a few split seconds here and there....

I suppose you could also do a breakdown of who was on medication and who wasn't...etc...I am not medcated....for example....

Some of us had quiet voices...some of us were loud...(I am one of the loud ones  )
I was also the shortest and oldest female there...

Like Poopy said, if anyone was making eye contact it wasn't me that much... I did notice when I did look that nobody else was looking... even tho autism didn't come up that much we did talk about medication... MADDuck was on Celexa and Wellbutrin and is now on Prozac, Stephaniecatherine has been on Risperdal, Abilify and Geodon, Poopylungstuffing has been on Adderall, Ritalin, and lots of other stuff (and isn't on anything now), I've been on Celexa, Seroquel, Haldol, Prozac, Zyprexa, Geodon, Abilify and now Risperdal with Celexa. Adverb has been on Effexor, Cymbalta, Celexa, others too, and is now on Wellbutrin and Lamictal (and has been on both before).

I wish I hadn't pked up my lunch and then gone home early because I felt bad. How much did I miss?

I've been on Paxil and then an Effexor/Wellbutrin combination. Currently I'm not on medication.

After you and Adverb left, I think we continued chatting inside SHFL then we ventured on outside and hung around for half-an-hour or so. Then our outing was finished heh

i was on lots of other meds but lots of them were given to me under the pretense that I had a certain diagnosis..that eventually turned out I didn't have. that happened a few times. lamictal actually helped, but they took me off of it because it gave me the dreaded rash.. now I don't want to take any meds even though I know that anxiety meds would probably help...for me personally I didn't think they were worth it. they caused me countless organic health problems. but that's definately not the same case for everyone.....funny thing is that they never once prescribed me anti-anxiety meds....!?? ...doesn't make much sense to me  ..but maybe sometime in the future I'll give an anti-anxiety rx a try..

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well yesterday, Ana.

I don't remember when you two left, but we all left around 5 something I think..

I feel sorta dissected.... .....I wish my warehouse was not so hot and messy....

Next time we ought to meet in a park.

Ana- you two didn't miss much!! We just some ice water, talked about more medication, and told Canadian jokes! LOL

Poopylungstuffing- your warehouse was awesome!! The ice water and fan really helped, plus we were mostly in shorts anyway. :)

So, when are we going to meet up again?

I had thought about that, too, earlier today. I also remembered how hot and muggy it still is this time of season. The Arboretum closes at 7 and at this time of year the day doesn't seem to cool down until 8 in the evening. It's a good hour-2 hour walk around in there. That is if walking around in a forest in the middle of Houston appeals to any of ya'll :chin: It's quiet and isolated; it's a nice pocket of nature.

That was a very awesome way to spend the weekend! the SuperHappyFunLand warehouse was cool.

Memorial Park sounds like a good idea, they have mountain biking trails and tennis, Hermann Park is also cool although its a bit more crowded.

Marieclaire (another member here) suggested to me that we go to a movie next time because some Aspies have a fear of eating out...

Maybe we can all come to Adverb's (and my) place after!

I didn't say much and was pretty boring last time... did any of you feel awkward around each other at first or am I the only one?

i felt awkward. i didn't think you were boring. i wanted to ask if you spoke any French...but I didn't..

...i hate to say it...but it's hard to get me into a movie theater. :? ....however,going during the day is usually ok ...then the sitting still, but I can manage that.

maybe there's a happy medium?...?

maybe not next time...but it'd also be pretty cool to one time go to the butterfly pyramid thing at the science museum 8O ..see all the fluttery buggies..

:bounce:

A movie might be too passive.
we couldn't really talk, etc...
