We'll be having a few (4) people over for a nice little dinner - Filet Mignon, baked potatoes and a killer salad - and one guest has promised to bring a couple bottles of excessively expensive, but stupid good, champagne (Kristal). :drunken: They'll be gone by 9 at the latest, after which my BF and I will probably be too wasted to do anything more than stare at the fireplace until we stumble to bed.

Note to self - must remember to make Hoppin' Johns and cornbread for in the morning. :D (it's a Southern thang, y'all)

edited to add: So, minor socializing early, but essentially alone (and probably asleep) at New Year's.

I will.

I was going to go to a house party and see my friend's band play but the trains are full of so many people and I'm reacting badly to it.

I've also had Christmas and birthday celebrations that I just need to stop and rest for awhile. Then I remembered on Jan 2 I'm seeing a band so it was the perfect excuse.

I've got a 6 pack of Heineken in my fridge so I can have a little celebration on my own.

I thought, have I missed the new year?

Usually something indicates it's coming and going.

Not sure what on earth i am doing. My boyfriend is working, possibly until past midnight. So I will be on my own, unless he somehow gets some breaks he can spend with me. Perhaps I will go out into the sheep yard and cuddle some of them and they can see the new year in with me.

Usually when I don't go out I get to do something more productive and I think I'll be doing just that. Get my executive dysfunction in order. I've been slipping a bit these past couple of weeks.

I'll be spending it alone, this year. After I get back from my clubhouse at 9, I'll be eating cupcakes, and celebrating Pete Quaife's Birthday, listening to Kinks music that was recorded between 1964 and 1969. It will be fun. I will be staying in my apartment this year. I will not be going down stairs into the rec room. Get into a fight about Jenny McCarthy like I did last year? No thank you!

The bad thing is that I am in a hostel atm and thus am not alone. So much around me... but there is no friend or family member with me this year.

Went to a dinner with my family earlier in the night, but I'm spending midnight alone. Going to go sit outside and listen to Beethoven (Moonlight Sonata) to welcome the New Year.

That's in about ten minutes! Happy new year, WP.

No, with parents and brother. In previous years with other family members as well, didn't go too well. I always feel guilty for not being out with people my own age and feel like I'm missing life as a result. But I suppose all I'm missing is a piss up and a cheer, there is no genuine respectable social interaction.

I was thinking about going to see local fireworks. A cold front came through and it's going to be bitterly cold. Because of that, I don't want to go stand outside. I won't be entirely alone, but I do shun parties. I don't mind crowds but parties are so boring I cringe.

I'm home alone up here in Chicago. I was invited to my neighbors house to watch a movie but her dog was barking loudly and for a long time, so I decided to leave. The barking overstimulates me, I just can't have it .
I'm enjoying being alone in silence, watching my rabbit sleep.
Happy New Year everybody!! !! !! !! !! !! !! ! :D
