If you can prove you have a disability, which you do if you if you have an ASD and diabetes and a messed up foot, and you also have income below $24,000 you can a get HUD-subsidized apartment and pay about a third of your income. If you do not have an income you can pay $25 a month.

...didn't make that clear before .
It would take time and the ability to rest to help my foot heal !
You can't just knock on a group home's door , and , when I tried (so to speak) I was seen as " mentally ill " , not Aspie , based on decades-ago diagnoses in another state .
Someone once suggested I get admitted into a mental hospital...BUT , that same person then backed down on it , saying there were no " nice/easy " get-intoable MHs about , only ones with " bad off " people , and if I got in he didn't know if I could get out !
At this point , my SSI/D check appears to have been , behind my back , had the hospital made a pay-ee...Supposedly , this...MAY...lead to anothr room...Would it even be better than the previous ones I mentioned here ? I would have even less money , and , right now , I have only the clothes I am wearing , for one...
I need rest and staying in to have my foot heal ! ! ! :( ! !! !! !

Forgive me if my post is redundant. I don't quite have the attention span to read all 6 pages, I just read the first page and a half and the last page. Anyways, if you're homeless... Remember to tuck in your shirt. It sounds like stupid advice... But I've been homeless, I know what it's like. It sucks. And it can get (very)cold. So, should you find yourself in the cold... tuck in your shirt. I had never really made a connection in my mind between tucking in your shirt and being warm untill another homeless person I met mentioned it to me. It helped a lot. If you are sleeping outside... It's a good idea to make sure any money you have is stashed somewhere safe(ish) like in your shoes or whatever... When I was homeless, people stole my stuff a lot for a little bit. Usually when I was sleeping.
As far as bathing goes... I had a bag that had my soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.. in it. Just make sure to use the one-person bathrooms with the locking door lol. It's awkward to have someone walk in on you when you're half naked, cleaning yourself in a public restroom. Anyways, the one I used was at an Albertsons. I don't know if all Albertsons stores have that kind of bathroom or not.

What are you doing for money? I was fortunate to still have a job during the time I was homeless(even if it did have sh***y hours and sh***y pay).

I'll be frank that you seem to have some serious attention-span issues. You only answer some of the easiest questions and you never seem to put together a complete solution to your own needs.

Are you saying that the hospital has control of your funds? 8O

...Yes , it appears that they have managed to get themselves named as my payee , that being myself before , though , from their description of it , it may not kick in in time for May 1st's dough ( How about Obama's stimulus ? :( ? ) .

Obama's stimulus for me was a tax cut that gives me $15.00 more per pay period. And why it might not seem like much to others, it is a lot to me and my budget!

and I remember when I only had 15 minutes at the library to do all my emails and post on an online fourm. Keeping yourself together when you are on the streets is bad enough without juggling how to keep your health care together and your money and where you are going to sleep that night and how you are going to put food into your belly. And then, there is the emotional stuff that you have to battle and deal with because it's no joke when nobody cares!

and then, try being an Aspie/autie on top of all of that!

been there, done that, could be there again.

...Thank you , Merle .
Does anybody want to read the (condensed) story of the theft of the money from me ?
I do think , with some luck & help , I could get it back , she has left certain " tracks "....It just need an E-mail address to send it to !
The original amount is (potential lifetime total) fairly substantial , as per what a motive could be...Yes . Rushed ! !! !! !! !!

Ok I have been following this thread from the start and I have to say something, like it or not ASS-P.

A lot of people have given you very good advice to go and see a social worker. Take it and do with it what you will.

Your posts are fragmented and hard to follow. So are you after advice or do you want someone to come and swoop you up and take you to safety?

I am being harsh, but I have also been where you are, but you know what, I didn't have a computer nor did I have any funds like you have (no matter who is the payee) and I somehow managed to get some help. I was sixteen and I was scared and attracting all sorts of creeps. So I was either going to become another statistic or get off my ass and do something. I chose the latter.

Nobody will help you if you don't try and help yourself.

I am the first one to hark when someone has been judgemental in a post ( whether it be posted or just mumbling under my breath) but come on man get a grip and post something about your circumstances so these kind people that have offered their help can assist you in your dilemma.

Later Later and stay safe.

This is why I thought that the social worker was a good idea. When us Aspies/Auties get overwhelmed, we could well cease to be able to function. A person who is payed to gather info and direct one to the appropriate services, can help bring order out of the chaos.

...First , yes , I do see a social worker , I referred to SF General Hospital , IIRC , the social worker , and other people , are people I see there (and are the people who are trying to be pay-ee , as well) .
Second , yes , I do have a very brief time to respond , " I have to s**t :x it out " , in a sense , and that combined with whatever Aspie tendency for my writing to get confuded/" childlike " , having to force it out inside of a fifteen minute period :( ...

...Again , couldn't send , to anybody here , the story of how , as I see it , a cousin of mine has stolen a quite large amount of money from me that was intended to be mine , stealing it  by lying over & over ?????????
I do feel there's a way I could fight back against it , legally speaking , with SOME help :(...and get , at least , a portion of what my grandfather and mother and father intended for me to have and which I NEED...
I don;t have the energy(or heart) to type it up here again :( !

...Again , I can detail how this cousin has , thus as yet , stolen money that my grandfather , mother , father , and even , really , my cousin's mother (my aunt) intended to be mine , stolen my share of this money while keeping her share too ! !! !! !! !! :(
If this is " too much a downer , maaaannnn  " , I do believe that she has left " fingerprints " , so to speak , that could let me recover at least some of the money...BUT I HAVE TO OUTLINE THE STORY ! !! !! !! !!
The fact that all the people who were so keen on telling me what I should do won't even go along with something I could detail to you - All I'd have to do is send the allready-written condensed story of it , and how the female cousin outrageously lied , again and again , I'd only have to send the letter to you , once I got your okay :o .
