Really? I don't think anyone here truly knows. Some people I'm sure, would have been discreet in donation.
yes, that's true. what i mean is that we have the total that b9 tallied, which Seanmw didn't dispute. my point was that we don't know how much he was aiming for. he sort of kept it open-ended.

it seems, however, that he only needs to read the last few pages of this thread to come up with varous excuses, as our speculations have handed him a choice of explanations on a silver platter.

I thought about this myself after I left to go to bed. Eh... fact is if he did scam us all he won't bother to explain. It's pretty obvious people on here aren't going to fall for something like this from him again, and scammers move on once they've milked a source dry.

You're right League_Girl, just because I'm doing it on my phone it doesn't mean others will but if you've commited to keeping people informed about something online and mobile is your only access then you do it. I only mentioned it as Sean used it as an excuse with his new WP name.

I actually dislike using mobile for this too but have little choice since my pc broke. :(

I am not convinced thats Sean either, and looking at this persons other posts, I am convinced its a well known banned member who is also on Seans FB page

That would be mrluckybob. Who has since PMed me to protest his innocence saying the same as friskeygirl suggested.
Why would one of them leap so passionately to his defence though without providing reason?

I know for a fact that mrluckybob is NOT seanmw. I may be retired but, for now, I still have my tools. The trail as to who to mrluckybob actually is was crystal clear.

I won't rule out that they are friends, and maybe talking outside of this board.

Look at the grammar and posting style, as well. Doesn't sound like seanmw, does it?

This line of thinking needs to drop. It's been followed up on.

Thank you. I was just about to refer to the mods about this speculative accusation on another member. I saw no legitimate reason to think it was Sean. (Maybe at most one of Frisky's trolls, but definitely not Sean). Anything beyond that I can't determine right now so I'll just let it go.
There's enough speculation in this thread to thoroughly confuse many people. I hope we can stick to facts here. I know the lack of concrete information right now is troublesome but I'm hoping we can avoid attacking each other over this.

Thank you so much for that <sarcasm>. Although, I have retired.

i know who it is! that crazy ass fool

I can't believe people are still trying to make explanations for this dude. Makes it clear to see how someone of such obvious low intelligence was able to get a reasonable amount of money out of people so easily.
gah

I think FriskeyGirl has it figured out. She's pretty good at the patterns. People can hide under names and identities, but few can really act 100% outside of their own personalities and writing styles.

Well you've been much clearer this time as to why you know it's not him. If another ex-member has left an obvious trail then i'll accept that - your previous post on the subject had just categorically said it wasn't him which at the time of reading seemed dubious!

Whoever it is, however, is very defensive of Sean so do they know more than they're letting on in regards to this?

I was not trying to offend anyone in my post, even those I referred to as naive, I was just showing how we know so little about the truth behind anything said on here. Most I'd like to think are genuine but I'm afraid that some even on here are not.

I was actually adding to my post as you were writing ...

I wrote a bit obtusely at first to be protective. Those facts that sold you ... not exactly nice things to share. Sometimes there are reasons for not fully stating a case; it is good to remember that when we get into attacks like this thread.

Thats exactally how I figure out someone, simple arthimatic,
2 + 2 = 4 or sockpuppet
2 + 2 = 5 or Sean, and he don't add up as his posting style is way different

i think that going back to FB leads to answers. Friskeygirl flagged it right away, and my guess was wrong.

I didn't donate because I didn't want to become emotionally enmeshed. I can't just will myself to emotionally detach and walk away after making even a symbolic commitment. Although I'm not suprised at where this whole saga ultimately led, I am depressed.

I saw that Yahoo page yesterday. All it proves it was that he was asking about the cost of the stomach cancer... and in a way that didn't make much sense.

it proves that he is a liar, because when he posted it (according to someone's post about it) she already had the surgery, but the yahoo post said that she had a tumor which was suspected to be cancerous. it proves there is no real time line for any of the events (her illness and surgery) he has written about.

it is possible "adrienne" is the scammer and he is hastily trying to put the pieces together, has asked that question to fact check her .. and thus lied in his question about the matter, but it is also possible he was inquiring about the true costs of surgery so he could ask for more money .. maybe he will come back from his alleged visit and cover his tracks with lies, and say the family cannot pay for the cancer treatment.

there is no way of figuring this out by talking about it - it is clear the facts don't really add up - but if sean were to reappear with an explanation how would anyone know if that was a lie or not? even if he comes back with a picture, we will not know if it is adrienne. then what - will someone demand her medical records? and how will you know they are real? and around it goes ..

does NO ONE know sean in real life? or has anyone tried to contact his family through his facebook page?

if not, what is keeping you (whoever has that access) from doing it?

he may have received a lot more money than he said he did. and at this point sean's word alone will mean nothing.

as there is money involved, this is a legal matter and if there is a way to uncover what really happened, it should be done.

i didn't donate because from the beginning i did not think the story was real (coming from adrienne, since he had not met her) but no matter the truth it's upsetting, and the thing that disturbs me the most is the people who are blaming themselves for not being able to discern what actually happened. no one that got involved is to blame for this.

but people will do desperate things for money (and for love, whichever the case may be), and that is the truth.
