1. this is from the onion or some other comedic source.
2. this guy is going low to get people to read his crazy ideas.

So what's this whole question coming down to: is it a suggestion that everyone from congress, to the lenders at the major institutions, to the drafters of the CRA, to those who were pushing more strict interpretation of how it applies to subprime loans - all aspies? That's at least three decades worth of us in all the right places! Or.... were these all NT's with 'temporary' AS as convenient to the author?

in my view economics and politics are firmly in the hands of the NT population.

controllers, power freaks, risk takers.. etc..

However, many of them use, and i mean USE Skilled Aspie people to do their bidding.

If you have a great mind for mathematics then if put in a stock trading environment you are in your element, however if you have no understanding of the motives of your "employers" and just excel in doing your job the best way you can as you enjoy it so much then it can easily be seen that once everything hits the deck, the first people to get dragged up in front of the courts and press will be the aspies who did the work, not the NT's who have long gone into the shadows..

That's because nobody is willing to hire us. If bosses would just hire us at the same rate that they hire everybody else, we wouldn't have that problem. Our coworkers also have to learn to treat us the way that they wish to be treated. If they could bend over backwards for us at the intensity that we do the same for them, we would stay at the same jobs for a longer period of time. If everybody did their part, NTs and aspies alike, we wouldn't have that problem. We need the world to accept us, not eliminate us. Just imagine how much stronger the economy would be if everybody with a disability who wanted a job was given one and all coworkers worked as a team to make every member of the workplace feel welcome? It's a nice thought to have. We wouldn't have the problems that we have now.

As far as Apies causing the crisis, I think it's the other way around in part. People like me with mild autism and who don't have good executive function or money management abilities were TARGETED by the greedy NT banker types to go into credit card excess. I did this. I had an ok job but got endless credit card offers and fell for it. I used it to make ends meet, not for luxery. It worked while I had the job and could keep up minimal payments, but then I got laid off and defautled. I was a good, honest Aspie idiot who did not see the pitfalls and NEVER missed a payment until I went unemployed and broke. Lukily there's no more debters prison and I won't fall for it again. But I think they know about our weeknesses and exploit them.

There's a special place in Hell reserved for this idiot who wrote that article.

is it me, but is there a swing in public opinion against high functioning aspies, the episode about the aspie guy who cracked a FBI mainframe, nearly caused an international incident , a mother recently killled her autistic son in the UK and was said to have 'suffered' so she got no sentence, an aspie was arrested for using words, damn him, which could incite a riot, now aspies have caused the financial collapse, I think i'm getting the message. It seems we are more toxic than sociopaths, and on top of that they want to murder us with their weapons of cure. Or is it a case of politicians saying look over there it's the 'bloody aspies fault'. NT's = anyone but me!

The people who caused the financial crisis were way more sociopathic than Aspergian.
