Does anyone here hate loud music? I know I do, especially at parties. Even if it's music I like, I don't like it when it's blaring, because it hurts my ears, I can't ask the person who's having the party to turn it down, because it's rude, and I can't have a conversation with someone, because I can't hear what they're saying! The whole time, I'm like, "What? What did you say? What?" I've been this way for as long as I can remember. I went to a wedding recently, and I spent almost the whole reception with my hands over my ears! I'd rather be in a quiet place, where you can sit and have a conversation with someone, and actually hear what they're saying! Does anyone else feel this way?

That's why I don't go to bars, the music is too loud. Pubs are okay, but bars... You can't understand someone, so for me the option is to sit in a corner, nursing a drink I think is way too overpriced and which I'd never chosen at al if I were somewhere else.

The sound of a TV, even when its on mute.

At the bar, the music is always a little too loud. Everyone else is having fun and I cannot even hear my own thoughts.

I can a handle a loud noise that happens with no warning because it's usually gone before I realize it was there, but there's a certain kind of sneeze that is sooo loud and has just enough "ah" before the "choo" that it just gives me this horrible anticipation and when the "choo" comes, it really freaks me out. XD;

I hate the sounds of:
Popping balloons (It makes my skin feel weird and tingly, and I feel tense also)
Crying babies, and that squeal that little kids like to make :x
The high tone of voice that many Mexican women around me seem to like to use when they speak Spanish (Nothing to do with the ethnic group or anything, the high tone just drives me nuts. Thankfully not all of them use it.)

I suppose it's obvious that any loud sounds are distressing, but in addition I really hate the sound (the tone) of public address announcements on public transport and similarly those stupid automated voices from telephone call centres. When they say something like 'press 1 for...', I want to ask press one what?!

Worst of all are fire alarms. A year ago the fire alarm at work caused me such distress that I smashed my computer - fragments were lodged in my hand and parts flew way across the office. I was told I had a choice - I could either be sacked or go see the doctor. It was that which led to AS being diagnosed!

I know where earmuffs and ear plugs!! !

I hate the sound of Rap, coming out of the boom boxes, of the cars of young people, because it knocks me out of my groove. I like to listen to Rap, on my own terms, on YouTube when the mood strikes me, though. That's different, because I have the control. 8)

Just when I THINK I've grown out of spooking at unexpected noises, boy I go and prove myself wrong...

I went to an unfamiliar gas station yesterday. At the station I go to, I'm used to all the little noises the pump makes, the volume, the tone, and so on, and I don't think a thing of it.

Well, this thing beeped LOUDLY to let me know it had accepted my card. INSANELY loud. Or at least it was to me. I had no idea it was coming, and I jumped out of my skin! Thankfully I didn't yell, as I'm still occasionally known to do, but I definitely flinched and spooked, and all I could do was just pray no one had seen me because I could step outside of myself and see that was not "normal" for just a beep.

But this thing was LOUD, I tell ya...LOUD! I'm sure you understand. :)

I hate the sound of my mum cursing at me, to my face, because it makes me feel jaded, for the rest of my waking hours.

I generally loathe commercials anyway, but the McDonald's "gimme that fish" song was one of the most annoying, headache inducing things I ever heard. I rarely watch TV and have only had to deal with those commercials a few times, but that song was way too much. It's pretty sad that something like that could make me so angry, haha.
