Oh dear, you've never experienced the wrath of the collective to know of its existence like many aspies have been intimately familiarized with, have you? "The collective" doesn't necessarily mean every single person, just the vast majority. And there are other subgroups within the collective, that have their own appreciation of certain ways of thinking, beliefs and/or expression. I'm sure it is the previous divisions and subgroups within the collective that you're thinking of that makes you think it doesn't exist. Well, it does. Ask any aspie!

I've experienced it. I just don't believe agreeing = collective thought.

Collective thought is a common similarity in thinking, such as those that characterize NT thinking.

It's nice to see you deciding I don't have Aspergers because I disagree with you, though

You might have it, but I don't have the evidence for making that assumption, do I? So, just to be safe, ask another aspie.

I wasn't asking you. I was being sarcastic because I didn't appreciate your assumption.

I know what collective thought is. Trying to 'school' me won't do you any good. Mostly because *I* happen to think you've got it wrong.

For what, exactly? Remember, think like someone with AS. They have no idea what might need to be forgiven because they don't perceive a "social blunder".

How about apologizing for telling me I can't have Aspergers because I disagree with your assessment?

You made a presumption about Tea's experiences. I think that's pretty rude. Maybe not everyone would agree.

I'd make it into a question rather than an assertion... 'I have to ask you if you've never experienced any problems from collectives', as opposed to 'you've obviously never suffered at the hands of blah blah...

I don't have enough evidence to assume that you either DO or DON'T have asperger syndrome. So, there was "no assumption" other than the fact that someone who was diagnostically declared to be aspie would have asperger syndrome and would intuitively know of this "collective" I speak of.

And your post made it obvious that you didn't think "the collective" existed.

Thanks for the advice. I obviously need help dealing with the NTs on here, lol.

lol In other words, if I disagree with you I must not have Aspergers.

And no, my post said nothing of the sort. I said 'agreeing =/= collective thought'. It takes more than just agreeing to have collective thought. Conformity, for starters, needs to be present.

Moog is right about your assumption that I've never suffered at the hands of a mob. I overlooked it on account of you not appearing to have the ability to see outside your own experiences, though.

Anyway, I have bowling tonight. Such a NT thing to do.

If that makes you 'lol', then go ahead and believe that. But, as matter of a fact, whether or not you agree/disagree has no bearing on your diagnostic status and no where had I intended implying that you didn't have aspergers; you may or may not have it, and I'm not one to know, so let's ask someone who definitely has it.(Which would not be me, though it's highly suspect as this point since I apparently don't understand your perspective, lol.)

You seem pointlessly interested in arm chair diagnosing people you barely know on the internet. Aren't you at all concerned that you're going to offend somebody? Insinuation is against the TOS, keep that in mind

How do real Aspies spend their evenings? At home calculating the number of tiles on their ceiling and then speaking for hours about it to anyone who'll listen, I suppose.

I'm not trying to insinuate anything about her, I'm genuinely asking if bowling in a group with others is a NT thing to do? Because I know, for certain, that no peer group I'm aware of would want me to join their bowling group (No matter how "nice" or "friendly" I attempted pretending to be.) and I'm "questionably aspie", meaning "real aspies" probably have it worse with getting invited to bowling events with their friends (Assuming they have any, anyways.).

How did you know how I spent yesterday night? We have some clairvoyants on this forum.

The only thing I don't participate in is flirting because I don't understand it.
During those times I simply find another board to post in and wait until I have something to add to the conversation.

I would call the "popular" people the ones who flirt with each other, because if someone flirts with you they obviously don't hate you.

To define popularity on a forum, it's the people who post a lot, and are generally liked. That's all it is, these people get more exposure because they post a lot so people get to know them.

I have watched New members come (I won't say who) and noticed the treatment they received when they first registered, and its the same as the rest of us. As these people get more posts, they are seen more and socialise with more people.

IRL many men & women use flirting to manipulate people

I was thinking about a few other posts here and in another thread I noticed, but no big deal. But remember that not everybody is like you, and basing your understanding of their differences on your standards for your own differences isn't very fair, no? Everyone will have some common traits here, but just like any population, there are outliers and differences between people :)
