It's uncomfortable for me, and I don't really do it except for people that I trust.

However, in New Zealand, looking people in the eye is sometimes considered a challenge. (Some people are like pitbulls)

Like a massive air raid within my mind. Simplest way to put it. I can bluff people out by looking at something behind them at eye-level, but to look into someone's eyes/be forced to do so is agonizing.

Eye contact is proviso to those that have romantic interaction.

It's something I do pretty often now, so the worst I feel at times is awkward.

With family I'm not so bad with eye contact, but when someone is talking to me, my head automatically focuses on the ground, or anywhere besides their face. I find myself unable to concentrate on what they're saying if I am looking directly at them.

I do somewhat okay with people I know well, although if it becomes uncomfortable (as it sometimes does), I look somewhere around their eyes (eyebrows, below the eyes, between eyes). It's a lot more difficult with someone I don't know well.
