Pretty much. To be fair though pretty much everyone falls under some sort of subculture. Even "normal" people.

Maybe that's the difference though - if you freely choose to conform to a norm, that's one thing. If there's coercion, that's another.

I'm a real mixture, as I suspect most people are. I can even be a "rebel" in the sense that I'm just doing a thing according to my own homespun ideology. It might be that somebody else somewhere does the same thing as I do, but that's just a coincidence, it's not really deliberate conformity or deliberate nonconformity, it's just the way I personally do it.

NO one has a "free mind" including the OP.

So why is she asking why we don't have something that has never existed?

I don't think that anybody has an absolutely free mind, but I think some minds are less bound than others.

Despite you guys being aspies a lot of you still seem bound by societal rules. Many of you seem keenly aware of other people, what society thinks is the proper way to be and how you 'don't fit in'. I wonder why though. I'm genuinely curious because I expected a lot of you would be like me; free from giving a damn about social order. I thought it would be be understood that worrying about other people's view of you is silly.

I think a lot of NTs feel the same way -- free from giving a damn about social order.

I recall several interviews from the early days of the wars between the Serbs and Croats around Sarajevo which revealed that for some NT people, war was really welcome and exciting because it gave them the chance to totally ignore the social order.

Makes sense to me. It seems normal (to me) that people "on the bottom" would want to change the social order.
