I do admit that I am quite respected here and other members do usually reply to my threads and care about my well-being. So I'm not going to doubt that.

But sometimes I feel like I can't relate to some of the members' personal lives because I can't offer much support or advice. It seems that a lot of members have abusive families, or are at university or work in an office environment, or regularly visit a therapist, or are being diagnosed with autism in adulthood, or are homeless or are living with roommates they don't get on with. I could go on. But none of those I have ever experienced myself. In fact my life is pretty mundane; I have a supportive, secure and loving family, I live in an apartment with my boyfriend, I go to work at a depot, and my life just seems too stable to be able to relate to those with 'muddled' lives. I was diagnosed in childhood and can't remember the exact process it took, so I can't offer much useful advice for adults being diagnosed as it's probably different to how it was as a child. I just read the posts and wonder how the hell 90s and 2000s kids slipped through the net all through childhood while I didn't, even though I'm not severe at all and didn't have any speech delays or anything.

I fit in very well, and even though i had 3 or more mod warnings, I can understand and forgive their sometimes not and sometimes yes cue to when they should jump in.

I was able to talk openly about every bit of my experiences from abusive, to religious and political, to cartoons and songs. I was able to input my knowledge and experience in love and dating as well as describe, discuss, analyze each of my own sexual memories I could think of as proper for input, experience ideas, fantasies, access and consume incels' virginity and learn about the wonderful variety of personalities and the hardships and emotions other beautiful people have. Very many people end up being very dear to me here no matter how much their reactions and beliefs unsettle me at some point. I really like the community here.

Not everyone has a need to talk though... And that's the pitfall. Some of us aren't talkers. I'm just an autistic engine that does things, primarily making them. I talk only when I have to, not because I want to. Maybe I could describe it as being half-verbal. I have very little in the way of social interaction needs.

I take support but I don't get relief by talking about my problems or experiences.

Sometimes it's not the place, it's the person. I never stuck around in online communities for long. I didn't last in other interest-based places either.

You have no formal warnings; your responses here are good, engaging and generally very well received.
Apparently you are as pure as the driven snow...

That's very close to how I mostly feel. Much of what I gain from WP is through reading.
I generally don't have much to say here apart from the odd posting flurry on News items, and tend to hang out in the wordplay and list games because they're amusing and don't demand lengthy detailed responses. (it's not that I can't, more like I just don't feel that involved).
Being "half-verbal" is a good description.

Yeah, can't say I'm into reading long threads. I'd rather read a book.

Not to mention I don't own a TV at home and I stopped reading news sites. Can't say I care much what goes on outside of the walls of my house or my office at work.

Cornflake is one of the clever ones within the word games. The things he comes up with......

 I thought of adding a slightly different quote attributed to Tallulah Bankhead, but chickened out for fear of it being taken as a dig. I don't think anyone wants to see an angry Rexi. 8O

Hah - spare a thought for the life of a moderator...
We often have to plough through the long and tedious ones.

Actually...she's pretty cool.

And she's smart, too.

She's also a very tender person when she's not angry or hurting, which from my observation are sides of the same coin.

I don’t know. I’m not sure if I fit in here or not. I used to be active here, back like a decade ago (whoa!), but then lost my computer. Posting mobile was a horrible experience back then, so I just... didn’t?

I just lurk around here now, mostly because I feel that I have nothing of value/that’s meaningful to contribute to the conversation.

Yeah... when a gentleman in the room compares a lady in the same room ...to a personage who calls herself "the Happy Hooker" (Xaviera Hollander), I would duck for cover too! 8O
