yep, thats me. i often lose sensation of my arms fingers and toes if im not actively using/moving them. Its kind of a paradox, aspies tend to be very sensitive to very mild stimulation, but we would lose tack of our heads if not bolted down.

I cannot feel my eyeballs or tongue.

YES I have problems with body awareness. Apparently I stay very tense, so much that I have multiple muscle spasms almost all the time, but I can't tell if I'm tensed up or not.

I always have to have something in my hands and I'm always chewing on things - I never really grew out of that, I've always done that. I like eating foods that are hard to chew like gummy bears and gummy worms.

When I sit, I always sit "Indian style," I like sitting in enclosed spaces even though I don't particularly like being touched by other people. I have this crazy habit where I open my jaw really wide then close it really slow because it puts pressure on my jaw and I like the feeling. I got picked on SO much for that - I've been doing that since I was about 5.

I always run into things, and have a hard time measuring distance - but that might just be that I'm a HUGE clutz.

When I sleep, no matter how hot I am, I always pull my covers in super tight, hug a pillow, and put a pillow between my knees. It can be VERY uncomfortably hot, but it feels better that way.

I'm also very tense and get CRAZY muscle spasms.

Is any of this weird? Particularly the jaw thing, I get a lot of sh** for that.

Interesting

About a month ago I became aware that alot of my social awkwardness is due to not seeing myself in context with everyone else. In groups I often feel like some kind of disembodied spirit who is just observing its surroundings.

I constantly do things just to feel myself doing them. I'll run my fingers against walls or railings as I walk, usually making a game out of it Like pretending my hand is a little person who has to jump over certain surfaces. Ill go out of my way to jump over a puddle and if I see a ledge that I can test my balance on I will jump up on it

I have a hard time walking in a straight line and end up bumping into people if im walking next to them or stepping on the heal of their shoe if Im behind them. I sit cross legged whenever I can or with my arms hugging my knees close to my chest. I enjoy sitting on the floor in social situations as I can sit however I want and not take chair space from people who might be less comfortable on the floor. People usually insist that I sit in a chair though. Im constantly fidgeting with anything I can get my hands on and end up stealing lots of paper clips and other trinkets

all just to feel alive I guess

I totally understand what you mean. I never really understood my proprioceptic wierdness, but I also do a lot of the same things as you - particularly running my hand against walls, railings, etc.

For many people their mind and body are connected.
So this one represents their connection to the world around them. I fail there.

I have very low kinestetic and spacial ability. Driving and seeing the information - I can not see so much as others. It is like I have vision deficit which occurs at processing level. I'm very good at 3D geometry but I can not rotate blocks in my head at all and score ret*d level at those tests. Go figure. I have no depth perception which due to congenital strabismus.

All in all I think my biggest problems in life are my body and vision. I'm not mind blind per se, never been and no stories in my life suggest such a thing. I just can not process the concrete world around me as fast as others.

However if we relate autism to mirror neuron activity then I'm autistic as I can not process others movements (and other details) in real time because my visual perception can not activate my mirror neurons fast enough. I'm also stereo blind which causes even more problems in mirror neuron activity.

2. I like to sit on my hands, and cross-legged (keeping legs on the chair).
3. I like very much crossing my legs and arms (and was actually unaware, until very recently, what meaning the latter conveyed).
4. If I do not cross my legs while sitting at the desk, I like to keep them in such a way that they touch the desk, chair or each other in as many points as possible.
6. When in bed, I often assume a very strange position, with legs and arms tangled.
7. I like keeping objects in my hands (pens, mugs, etc.).

I relate to these rather well. Sometimes I also have this feeling that my limbs (usually my arms) don't belong to me and are detached from the rest of my body, even though I can still move them.

Yes. I'd often bump on furniture anywhere, even concrete walls. When I pass by somewhere which has a lot of narrow pillars and furniture my arms and legs would often get hit and I just surpassed without much awareness only when just a bit later time will I react and wonder why I got bumped even though I haven't seen it.

I also like keeping objects near me i.e. in my pocket, in my hands, on my backpack, because I'm afraid I might lose important things and to make me feel safe.

I like crossing legs in a manly way, since I guess I've acquired such from my dad because it's been natural to him doing such gestures. I also feel safe when I'm feeling my nails for any ridges and have an urge to bite. (I always bite my nails and it's also genetically predisposed.

Sometimes, I bump into streetlamps---and, especially, glass doors.

There are times when I bump people in the street because of the lack of precision in my placement in the street vis-à-vis other people.

No, I usually know my body is there and that it can bump into things. I have the occasional collision due to hyperfocussing on other things, but I'm almost instinctively aware of how clumsy I can be, and I compensate.

I have had periods, where I "lost" a leg - even my whole body once, but that was years ago. I sometimes sense, that my extremities are going "picasso", whilst I know, that they are in a quite normal position. In periods I tend to bump into things or knocking them over as I pass.
Common. Quite normal

I don't know if this is propioception, but I do lose all sense of my body-self when I'm on the computer, especially if it's something I'm engrossed in like typing this response or watching videos, or playing video games. It's kind of a problem because I know now that it's the opposite direction you need to go to remaining spiritual and grounded in yourself, your body, or the feeling of you.

I find that I get more agitated the longer I "lose myself" into a computer or generally, on the web.

It is - like when you lose sense of where you are and fall off the chair (tried that :-) ) or lose sense of body in noisy places. Proprieception is the sense of, where your body is in the room.

I know that feeling. Worked for 20 odd years on a computer, forgetting the body. Nearly wasted me away and I didn't even notice. Sitting is highly dangerous to your health and your body knows it, that's why you get agitated. There are alternatives! You can use a standing desk or if you don't want to go that far, I use a stool made from a car suspension coil. That way my body uses muscles to maintain posture, and it allows me to incorporate some enjoyable movement. Wobble chairs are sold commercially, not sure how good they are or just the old medicine ball.
However I minimise sitting now and stand on one leg to improve strength and balance. Your body is the most magnificent bio machine in existence. The more you use it the more it grows, but don't use it and it will deteriorate rather too quickly.
