I got 35, so I suppose I do have enough Aspergian traits to self diagnose (on to of oher tests I've done, I just don't believe doctors about it).

What kind of questions are these?

"I would rather be at a library than a party" - well, it would depend on the library and it would depend on the party! I love parties, but it depends on my mood and on who's there and on what it's a party for. Likewise, I love some libraries but hate others.

"I prefer doing things on my own than with others" - Things? What 'things' are we talking about? 'Doing things' could mean every verb and every activity on Earth - how can you possibly agree or disagree without context?

"I would rather go to a theatre than a museum" - Again, when are we talking? What play? What museum? What context?

I got 35, but I find it just a simple test based on stereotypes and not much substance. So I would take any scores off that with a pinch of salt.


EDIT: Is it just the Aspergian in me finding it hard to do this quiz because of the lack of context of the questions? Should I get extra points for being utterly confused and annoyed and feeling left anxious by the phrasing of them, and the way that people who enjoy socialising even if they don't 'get it' would run into trouble, and the way it seems to think we're all just a bunch of anti-social geeks with no interest in trying?

I got 39 on that thing last time. Now I'm 30.

This worries me.

I took this recently, I got 40. Ive been 'scared away' from seeking an official diagnosis though based on the amount of horror stories ive heard/read. My thoughts that I have it were'nt based on these online tests though but rather I was propted to do more research into aspergers over the internet on seeing my results in various tests and it went from there. I originally ended up looking up all these tests and things when the careers guidance counsellor where im studying kept asking if I have ever been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD(I hav'nt) but the online tests for those didnt really show any indication that I should look into those more. Then theres the complication of family members saying 'oh everyone has those problems', or 'that runs in the family', 'thats only because you're a musician', 'you're just shy'...etc, so I should probably think a bit more about it too I think, but I have always thought there was something...

I agree with everything you said!! !! ! On page 6 I made a similar post, I hate the library because it is CROWDED and I enjoy parties because of the food. And yes, many of the questions the answer was "It depends...." Yeah, it depends which play and which museum to which I prefer. It depends on what we are doing if I want to do it alone or not. Eating in public? Then I want a friend with me. Shopping? I prefer to do that alone or the other person will drag me to everything THEY want. I DO enjoy novels, and I said so even though I knew a "true" aspie doesn't like novels (my dad doesn't). But do I get to explain that I prefer books based on TV and movies (X-Files, Star Wars etc) because I find it hard to imagine a character unless I've seen them on TV already?????

I also don't get accused of being rude, but I do get misunderstood frequently. People think I'm angry when I'm not or think I meant something more than what I said!

The test needs to be reworded. The "do you prefer the library" question needs to be "Do you prefer a quiet place with not many people, or a loud place surrounded by people?" Because when I think of a library I think of a crowded place full of people. And if I attend a party, I wouldn't go if there wasn't people I already know so I would usually enjoy a party where I can talk to friends only.

37. That's a short one. There's one that my mum took (and had me take) before talking to my doctor when I was a teenager that was scored out of 200-something I think. I can't remember. She got 180 I got 130. *shrug*

i scored 32 which fits well with other tests of the kind i made the lasst few days and my personal expeerience of being a "mild" aspie.

but it's difficult to trust those tests, since for nearly all questions i was able to "guess" the right aspie-answer. i'm quite sure, i could scrore 49 or 50 if i "wanted' to.

what finaly convinced me of being aspie where the entries in this blog. all those topics about questions that i had all my life like eye-contact, being sensitive to touches, but not to pain. not being able to distinguish human talk from background sounds (had a bad experience about that just a few weeks ago...).
nothing of that appeared in this test and i think there are a lot of such details that could be used to improve diagnostics (other tests actually use some of them)
