out here in the sticks of lesser hooterville, i am sitting here alone as i tap these inane words into perpetuity, with the booming banging cacaphony of my neighbors' gunfire and surplus fireworks rending the night air.

I got the close crackle and pop of some sparkly type firework shooters, accompanied by the sound of some partying youngsters across the road with their doof doof doof musac playing loudly. I was alone save for my sleeping son and a dog some friends asked us to look after.

I stayed home and missed it by a few minutes when my husband reminded me.

I do not observe holidays, therefore I was alone. I repaired a fuel line in my vehicle at my parents house earlier in the day, ate a meal, and returned home. I did listen to the on-line police and rescue scanner for entertainment. 8)

Same here ~ neighbors were shooting off whatever ~ guns & fireworks sounds about right... I used to live about a mile from here & could hear them from my old place ~ must have moved closer to the noisemakers, it's much louder from here.

Technically, I wasn't alone for NYE. There was a sleeping child (mine) in the house, & the four-leggeds were scattered around snoozing as well.

Happy New Year ~

I had to go to a family gathering early in the evening, for dinner, but I hated it and left by 8 pm. Me and my hubby spent most of the evening at home, in separate rooms, so I was pretty much alone. Around midnight we drove a bit out of town (it only takes a few minutes) and watched the fireworks from our car from the other side of the fjord, far away from other people. Then we headed back home and went straight to sleep.

I've never liked New Year's Eve much. I really hate the smell of fireworks and the garbage and people are extra annoying, obnoxious, drunk and dangerous on this day. I have a lot of bad memories from this day from when I was a kid and could tolerate those things even worse than now. I usually stayed inside if I could and tried to avoid the smell, the garbage and people while the rest of the family was a having fun with that crap. What I really hated was that the following day I was always the one they sent to clean up the disgusting mess they had made in our garden and I spent most of NYE dreading having to do that (for OCD reasons I really don't want to touch those things).

Anyway, I'm glad NYE is over and I hope that the mess will be cleaned up soon so that life can go back to normal.

Happy New Year to everyone.

I was alone with my two cats. I went to a New Year's Eve party with my fiancée at 9.30 pm, but he had to walk me home only 15 minutes after we arrived. After I had engaged in some small talk (my speech sounded extremely forced, and I knew that it did but I couldn't help it), I panicked, my pulse went up to 176 and I started to cry.
There was about 15 people there that I didn't previously know. Due to some medical concerns I can't drink any alcohol right now, which makes me even more introverted. But yes, I had a nice, calm start to the new year. My fiancée went back to the party after I convinced him that it was OK (I didn't want to ruin his NYE).

I could have spent a quiet New Years Eve at home with my mother and sister, but decided to make an attempt at socializing instead. I went to my brother's house down the street and hung out with a few people. It all went pretty well at first. These are people I have known for a while, so they know how I am and usually seem very understanding. I eventually passed out after drinking for a while, and woke up to somebody spraying shaving cream on my head. I wasn't the first person to pass out. I just got singled out as the guy to pick on. A little later they started talking crap about me, because they thought I had already passed back out. I got up and walked home in the middle of the night. I ended up breaking down in tears during the walk.

I think I'll just stay in this New Years Eve.

I did. I was hoping to at least get a phone call from a friend, but unfortunately I didn't :(

I love that there's 8 pages of people who spent it alone, lol.
