I was just watching some WP Youtube videos. I noticed someone moving their jaw from left to right and back several times for no aparent reason. People have told that I do the same. I was wondering, if that could be something random or perhaps a common trait for aspies.

People on stimulants tend to do that a lot.

It sounds like a fidgety or stim-ish gesture. What makes you associate it with stimulants, kahnza?

stimulants can cause that temporarily. personal experience tells me that.

i have to try not to do it. i have as long as i remember. my jaw pops too so it's noticeable.

it's especially annoying to people if i'm doing it while eating.

***edit: just to clarify, it's a fidgety stim that i've always had. not caused by stimulants. on stimulants, however, everyone will do it.***

When I was younger I was constantly grinding my teeth. Otherwise I don't move my jaw horizontally it feels uncomfortable.

I tend to do something like that because I usually get a weird feeling when moving my jaw horizontally that's hard to describe.

I have had a funny click in the joint of my jaw for some decades now (almost as if it "slips out"), but I doubt it has anything to do with the fact that I am an Aspie. You can sometimes hear it when I am chewing, and I can certainly feel it.

I don't know if it's common for aspies, but it's very common for people on amphetamines. and sometimes methamphetamines to do it. For some reason it makes me really dizzy, and nauseous when I see someone move their jaw that way. I have to look away. I don't know why, just another one of my quirks.
