I think I am too. Whatever I have came very close to aspergers in the DSM. There are not many people in my family that I can think of as even matching. It makes me feel wierd and it is annoying constantly explaining to people why I do what I do.

My father was tentatively given a "mild" AS label by a clinical psycho going by my explanations of him.

So, no, or is that yes? I'm not an "aspie" (god, I may just one day kill the person who coined that term), but I'm close enough.

My sister has ADHD, which is genetically linked to AS IIRC.

I'm the only one in my immediate and extended family diagnosed with AS (that includes all cousins, aunts and uncles, and grandparents on both sides as well as parents and sibling).

I'm the only one in my family, yes. Or even my extended family, as far as I know. Nobody gets me. . .

As far as I'm aware, yes. I've been informed that my Aunt who passed away numerous years ago also posessed traits of Aspergers. So perhaps the genes were hereditary? I'm not entirely sure.

Yes.

Which is the reason I always hope for a very early death.

No. Well, none of us strictly "aspie", but (at least) two of my family members had some kind of developmental delay (though different to mine) as children.

Immediate family, yes, I am definitely the only one. (i.e., Not my parents or grandparents. [I have no siblings.])

Only one diagnosed. I suspect my late father was one. I have a lot in common with him. My other siblings have a few traits, but not enough for a diagnosis.

Nobody in my family, not even I, have been formally diagnosed on the spectrum.

My mom suspected I was mildly autistic when I was little, but doctors rejected the theory (this was before it was officially announced in the US). My sister doesn't seem to show any signs, all I can get out of my brother is that he likes to listen to the same song over and over, and on games picks the same things. My mother has had problems with people and I finally got her to admit that it doesn't get easier. My dad in his teens was on Ritalin (no formal adhd diagnosis).

Overall, I'm the worst off out of my family, and I've only had two doctors say I have asperger's (nothing extensive or official). Nothing was even suggested when I was a child, and I was even held back a grade for being "socially immature". Red lights, anyone? Guess I was unlucky.

I'm the only one in my family who has it too. This being the case, I often feel lonely and glum...
