Hello, Wrongplanet! I'm curious as to what people on the high-functioning Autism spectrum have in their area for social groups, meet-ups, and other things, as well as what people would like to see. I'd like to get some more activity here in sunny western Massachusetts but it's been slow going in that I'm not sure what kind of activity I actually want. Here we have discussion groups for adults to talk about things going on in our lives, which have always been very helpful to me. Actually I think I look forward to going those the most of everything in my life because everyone's shared responses really validate my experiences in a way that having to explain things to non-autistic people doesn't do. But also, in a perfect world, what else would you like to see? Are there services that you'd like to see offered to people on the autism spectrum that just haven't gotten the funding or manpower to get off the ground, or do you have a great idea you'd like to see developed? Please tell me, I want to know everything. :study:

We just got a support group going in my area. We will have the autism education center opening pretty soon as well. As far as government services are concerned, the only thing I qualify for is C.A.R.D. I would like to see affordable health insurance for autistic adults.
