Hello fellow aspies and NTs! WrongPlanet has been very successful and we now have a great community of individuals who all seem to get along with each other very well. Dan has spent a lot of time helping me with this community. He has been very busy, and as a result, is unfortunately no longer maintaining the site on a regular basis. I have made an arrangement with Amy who has been kind enough to form a working relationship with me in order to help manage the site. Please note that Dan will still be posting and helping with the site once in a while.

On another note, I'd like to get suggestions from you guys on new features we can implement. Please make suggestions for improvement. If you ever thought "hmm they should have done this to make it better" please inform us of your concerns!

Thanks a lot,
Alex

just 1 suggestion -
at the side where it says 'last post Sun Aug 22, 2004 12:17 pm by _____' to show who has posted last, could you also get it to show which room they also posted in? thanks

Hi Alex!

Have a suggestion. Do something about your power trip mods? Maybe set up rules that mods must follow and let it be known that just because someone is a mod doesn't give them the right to abuse their power and maybe get some more mods that understand aspie humor.

I have a good idea; put all threads which haven't been posted on for six months into an archive, ( no longer postable on ), and those which were a huge success and/or full of very useful info could be grouped as "favourite threads", indexed/categorised by subject matter if necessary. :D

Erm.. I've seen 'fast reply' windows at the bottom of the page in other forums, which means you can easily refer back to the thread while you're typing a reply. That'd be cool, if you could?

And a 'show new posts' button that stays at the top of the page? I know there's a 'posts since your last visit' but if you are dipping into them one after the other you either have to keep hitting 'back' lots of times or go back to the main forum and click again (two steps not one).

That's all I can think for now, thanks alex.

An ignore button would be really really usefull for people who are easily annoyed by random stuff, might stop us getting annoyed by the same thing regularly. I find it's an essential tool on any forum for me with my short fuse and the broad spread of opinions found on the net.

New post button would be good too yeah.

Cheers.

maybe a section on the forums where we could gather names of movies or documentaries and articles ?.

like a section movies/documentaries then you have these sub sections for aspergers, pdd-nos, depression, schizophrenia, borderline. all kinds of different conditions or just stick to autism only i dont know.

so new members could go there and get a list right away if there interested in seeing movies/documentaries about autism or maybe other things.

Here's the main thing that's needed, above all else:

The CGI IRC client either needs to be fixed, replaced with a Mibbit link that autoconnects you, or removed entirely. The CGI client is malfunctioning horribly, disconnecting people after only a few seconds or minutes.

Beyond that, well, I know you're running phpBB2 in phpNuke, with all the limitations that come from this older package. And that since you're using a portal system, updating it to the more-robust phpBB3 is a significant undertaking (I've done it before; wasn't fun). The one thing I really wish we had was a Report Post button or some sort of reporting system that would allow users to contact the mods about inappropriate content, although I realize this is difficult with the current forum.

Alex, good you have found some people to help you out.

What I would like is to have besides the 'Post since last visit', is to have an option to choose between last hour, last 2 hours, etc.
That way it is possible to see only recent posted topics, when I have not visited a long time.

It'd be cool if before you clicked on a thread, you got a little sample of the first post. I love that feature on forums.

Haven't really been aware of who manages the site, mainly due to ignorance.

Anyways thanks alex and dan for all the hard work :)

Yep. I saw this while reading the forums on my phone today but I didn't want to reply because it takes forever to type on my phone. This thread was brought back up by someone who is clearly trolling... let it die.
