As a child, I flapped constantly. As an adult, I still do once in a great while. I have NO idea what brings it on. Even my toes start to wiggle for no apparent reason.

Sometimes.

Yes, plenty. Rocking, swaying, leg jittering, ect, ect.

Plenty. I never really hand flapped, but I rock, bounce my leg, foot flap, etc. I'm primarily a kinetic stimmer, and I stim quite a bit.

Yes. They changed a lot from what I can tell, but they're still there.

Yeah I stim with my foot/leg all the time. Also other thing like blinking etc, but mainly my feet.

I think it's common for people with AS to carry on stimming into adulthood.

I have done a weird little body ritual thingy with my shoulders since maybe I was... I dunno, 8? More typical stims include tapdancing when standing in line, playing air piano along with a tune in my head (often I don't even know I'm doing this), leg shaking, etc.

Most of it (except the shoulder thing, but people can't see it) comes off as normal looking.

^^ I do enjoy flapping and clapping, although I believe I have developed the clappin pixies. I believe however my leg shaking blesses me more often and when I was a child.

I did the airplane thing when I was a kid.

I shook my legs at the beat of music only audible to me when I was a teen.

Nowadays I tend to drum my fingers, twirl something, or play with the cellphone.

I've jiggled my knee and paced when I had room for as long as I can remember. I also sway from side to side while standing and occasionally rock. I also chew my nails, but never really thought about that as a stim until someone mentioned it here.

Regards,

Patricia

I flap when I'm on my own, usually if I'm just walking around the house being bored. Hand-flapping in public is not something I do that I'm aware of, but if I ever did it without being aware of it...
I do other stims in public, such as shaking my leg or even rocking slightly. I'm fine with doing it at school as long as there are other people around me doing it. Regular flapping is kind of childish to do in public, even by autistic standards.

I flap when excited or stressed (usually, and try not to too much in public), clap, rock (frequently when stressed), click and rub my fingers, wriggle toes, fiddle with objects in my vicinity, twirl foot, shake leg, alot of things. Dunno whether I did them when I was little but I think I do them more now
