Whats your favourite characteristic and most hated characteristic of aspergers?
My favourite is the uniqueness of aspergers. For all my life i wanted to be different and unique.
My least favourite is the problems with decision making. I go into a dvd shop and see a nice cheap dvd that i like but i have to see how much money i will have left over etc. It could take my ten minutes to make a decision.

There's nothing I hate more than being asked annoying questions, as previous people have said, decision making is not my hobby.

Agreed, I hate being the same. I love to be different, whether people bag me or not, I don't care, I'm glad I have a different personailty. Another thing iswhen I hear people play my favorite music, I''ll be like "Woah, you listen to Slayer? AWESOME!".

Favourite aspect - being able to see things in a different way. This gives me an insight to things from a different angle & people have said that my insights to how the world works (& why it works the way it does) are interesting.
Most hated aspect - Anxiety. I get stuck in bad routines & even though I want to get out of them, I'm too anxious to try anything new.

For my favorite characteristics, it's the fact that I'm perceptive and that I think deeply alot when it pertains to philosophical matters (like when I read a quote, I'll decipher it and then start thinking about the meaning behind it). Also, the fact I'm different and an individual in a society with so many posers who do things just to fit in and be cool.

As for least favorite attributes: A) While I do have a sense of humor (a strange/dry one when it's active), a lot of jokes go over my head or I'll think "I get it, but why should I laugh?". It's just how I am sometimes and I don't try and act "bitter" (though this condition was likely what provided me with my depression. which is an irritating mental illness. Still, I do like some of the perks of AS.), but my brain is wired differently and I want people to respect that, while treating me human all the same. Also, I hate my social awkwardness/anxiety as well. While I wouldn't say talking or interacting with people terrifies me (in fact, I sometimes do okay and enjoy the talks), I always worry about how I'll look, if I'll embarrass myself by stuttering or talking too fast or not finding the words to I need to say what I want to say, etc

And yeah, I know what I described doesn't apply to everybody. I can only speak from my own perspective, since it'd be foolish to assume we all share the same traits. Afterall, we AS/Autistic people are still all people and thus different in some way or another.

I don't have aspergers myself, so i'm only commenting on what i see here.

Best of all:- Well meaning, uniqueness

Worst of all:- Lack of insight, flawed logic

For me:

Best aspects: my special interests, eye for detail, pattern recognition, logical way of thinking
Worst aspects: clumsiness, sensory difficulties, not being able to lie

I suppose right now it would be sort of two sides of the same coin,

best aspect: detail-oriented processing

worst aspect: executive dysfunction/difficulty set-shifting

Other days or weeks, it's other aspects.

The best characteristics are: -
. extreme endurance even in the face of immense adversity.
. Loyalty, honour, integrity and compassion.
. Not giving into peer pressure.
. Not putting so much value on having to "fit in"
. Pursuing their own path in life however others see it.

The worst characteristics are: -
. Low self esteem in the worst of times.
. Feelings of hopelessness and feeling that nothing will ever improve.
. Inability to cope with extreme emotions - meltdowns and the like.
. Common depression.

This is how I see it anyways.

Favorite: the fact that I think and analyze things differently than most people.

Least favorite: The need for repetition

I can't really see a best, as whatever "best" I have is equally distributed amongst normal people as it is those with an ASD.

It's all worst*.

*Which doesn't bother me, but that's how it goes.

agreed to the d depression and hopelessness are the worst for me to especiallyy my social anxiety to talk and that but I jusst feel lost, I think my other fave points are that I am 100% logical and everything is based around logic entirely secondly my interests over the years, about 6 altogether but have made me quite refined but my fave is my dark imagination, I have twisted humour for sme reason probably because i am more half empty kind of guy

I do really hate the joke thing to the I get it but I a not laughing but I never know why I usually grimace at the best jokes
