It's paradoxical given Aspies' lesser intuitiveness in social interaction and communication that they're always desperately quick to jump on social faux pas in other Aspies. Who else notices this, as I certainly have?

Yes i have noticed this. Aspies are very quick to bully and dissociate themselves from things and people they believe present aspergers with a negative veiw. Very paradoxical considering this is a support site :?

There are a bunch of reasons for this... First is that aspies are constantly being jumped on for doing things wrong socially.. you tend to do what happens to you a lot.
Also, mental health professionals, by their very nature, are some of the most judgmental people on earth.. anything that makes aspies as a group look bad, manipulative, nasty, etc... is going to make life much more difficult for lots and lots of other aspies.

umm, I think there was another one I was thinking of before.. Lol, I'll try to remember it.

Edit: Oh, the trouble communicating, and general inability to criticize at all without sounding nasty, even when that's not what's meant, is another one..

I go the other way. I tolerate people's quirks or less likeable traits if at all possible.

Hell, someone with a severe personality disorder once flipped out and threatened to rape me. I still forgave him. I felt that since people around me have to tolerate my ASDish traits, I should have the same tolerance towards others. We were talking via the net, so it wasn't like he was in a position to actually rape me. I let it go.

Until I read the last line of that, I was planning on asking if you at least made sure you were armed when seeing him after that threat..

Hell no, I don't see this guy in real life.

I'm not sure I would want to, he's cool and I like him a lot, but he has the disorder, it's not his fault and it sucks, but it's there.

I think that we're so used to trying to analyse what we're doing to catch ourselves before we do something innappropriate or rude, when we see someone else doing the same, the same alarm rings
