I find that memories are one of the most important things in my life. That's why I feel like I'm stuck in the past. I rarely look forward to anything new unless I can associate them with a good memory. I love songs that deal with memories, though I only ordinarily listen to video game music because they're tied to good memories I've experienced in games. I think this might be one reason I don't like change.

I noticed this when I realized that many of my favorite pieces of music have the word "memory" in their title.

I like the music of the 60s, 70s, and 80s because those songs bring back memories. The stuff from the 60s remind me of listening to the radio at home, and in the car. The songs of the 70s remind me of the days, before I was in the public school system - the punk and disco. The songs of the 80s remind me of my first years of school, before things went bad, between my peers and I. 1984 is my cut off year, for recorded music. I'll experiment with the odd song on YouTube, but I'm happy to be pacing between January 1964 and July 1984. To you 40+ year old members, gee...I wonder why.
