This has been a huge problem for me for a while.
I live in an apartment complex that is more of an urbanized environment.
I grew up in the suburbs, and I am trying my hardest to stay positive about myself.
Ever since I've moved into apartment, I have heard the most idiotic "racial slurs" geared toward me.
The first reason due to being mixed (which I could care less about) but the second really bugs me:
Both of my parents have been stopping by to help with my apartment and to the neighbors' "dismay" they're white..
I tried telling my therapist, but she just thinks I'm "paranoid". Also, this is an apartment that is for the mentally-ill.
Luckily, I have my art supplies and I am currently working on studying Chinese and German at the moment.
It's driving the "others" crazy that I'm doing such a thing, but :) that's fine with me!

all racial slurs are idiotic.

sorry you have a problem where you live. The lady next door here has the nicest dogs. When she is with them. When she coops them up all Sunday and they bark like a motion detector if anyone walks through the garden it's yap yap yap all day long.

Have you tried speaking to the land-lord about it? They might be able to remedy the situation.

If not, the best advice that I can offer is to do your best to ignore them. Its not your problem if some of the folks you live with are narrow minded fools.

I think the "therapist" you have doesn't understand aspergers whatsoever. I highly suggest changing to a psychologist (please note that I didn't say psychiatrist, since there is a huge difference) that specializes in people who are on the autism spectrum, if you can find such an individual. Here are some that proclaim such a qualification (for AS, at least).

Good to see people making that distinction. I haven't met a psychiatrist I've liked yet or who hasn't inflicted serious side effects through inappropriately prescribed drugs.
