Today, I feel bad!
I've been headbuting various things around my house.
Although it's painfull, it feels good.
Is there another less harmfull way to vent my frustrations?

Maybe try hitting your head with one of those foam-covered baseball bats so as not to run so much risk of brain damage?

In my opinion, your head houses a useful organ, namely, your brain. So damaging that would not be a good idea.

This may be totally stupid advice, but I am going with what I feel here, rather than with what experts say. If you feel you must be destructive, break something else. Hitting a pillow wouldn't make me feel better if I was feeling violent. (And, to be honest, I have had a violent feeling for the past few days.) What I think would work for me if I was really going to try to channel some of this feeling somewhere, is drawing or painting large angry pictures, scratching them onto board, and using scraping tools to hack into them. Don't know if that would work for you, but it would leave behind a paradoxically creative product. And creation and destruction are supposed to be mutually exclusive, so I think that's pretty cool. You could even draw head banging if you wanted to. :wall:

My best advice would be to buy something soft that you can punch or headbutt when you're angry. It would probably feel just as good and be less painful.

I used to take a handful of silverware and throw it in the sink as hard as I could. It sounds like something breaking and did the trick for me.

Wow. That is one of the best tips I have ever heard. I am going to store that for myself in case I ever need to use it. Thank-you!

I usually throw the object that made me mad. It makes me feel better for a second. Unfortunately that object is often a cell phone or a laptop computer. That's where work comes out of along with all the frustrations. So of course if they break I end up regretting it.

Unfortunatly, I can't throw people!

If they're small enough, I bet you could...

When I was a teen, my brother and I really loved the sound of glass breaking. So, we would hoard glass bottles, old light bulbs, etc. And then, late at night,we would go outside and break them by throwing them really hard, at the ground. Of course the neighbors complained, and ruined it all.

Maybe some sort of vigorous exercise will help. The energy it takes up relieves frustration, and it helps your body instead of hurting it.
I used to take long jogs away from my family, which really helped until they started following me.

Playing violent video games helps. When whenever I feel angry, I would put in Streets of Rage and start beating bad guys in the streets pretending they are my bullies I knew in my childhood. Video games are good for relieving stress or frustrations because no one is getting hurt except for the characters in the games but they aren't real.

Whatever you do, avoid a selfharm addiction. It's been 2 months and the urges still bother me.

Hey, at least you don't get angry and bite things (and sometimes myself) like I do. Heh.
