Attn Aussie aspies, diagnosis for no cost !

I went for a diagnosis the other day (at minds and hearts but it isnt really relative) I rang my health insurance provider to inquire about a possible refund of some of the cost of diagnosis which was $400 ! !! They said they dont cover psychological services for refund purpose but i could claim that amount out on my package bonus which i have used in the past to buys sports shoes and first aid gear. I went in today with my receipt and very quickly and painlessly had $400 refunded into my bank account. Might be of use to someone.

That was very flexible of them! I'm not in a fund anymore but mine used to cover psychologists, but not psychiatrists.

I don't earn enough per year to bother about private health cover (I won't see the tax breaks). As an alternative, If you get a medicare referral to them through your GP, you can at least get some of your money back from the government.
