Does anyone (who NTs claim have no sense of humour) start laughing at seemingly strange times?

I often start laughing & smiling when I'm writing forum posts (such as this one). I only took notice of it when my stepmother came over, asking what I was laughing at and refused to stop looking at what I was doing "what is funny?" was the incessant question.
I suppose that she felt happy in her "normal" way that I was smiling - something I never really do unless in these "strange" cases. There was nothing funny - I was just imforming someone of some minor bug fixes in Firefox on a local board I'm the "Tech-Talk" mod on. The point is - I've noticed this before. I get exceedingly giggly when posting on forums, browsing the web, and instant messaging completely randomly.

I laugh a lot while playing football aswell (the real, original football that is - what the US call soccer). People have commented on this - I asked "what are you smiling at" to a friend, to which he responded "it's just so funny to see you giggling constantly like that".

So, anyone exhibit this behaviour?

I do. I laugh when I'm happy regardless of whether or not there's something 'funny' going on. I think people also fail to realize that what's funny is subjective as well.

I often laugh at innapropriate times. I remember when I was at school, if I got in trouble and was being told off I used to find it really difficult not to laugh or at least grin.

Needless to say that tended to get me into more trouble.

Even now, any situation that requires seriousness often makes me want to laugh out loud although I've (mostly) learned to supress it.

I do that as well. I have a bad habit of laughing while I'm explaining to someone just how much they're annoying me. Needless to say no one ever takes me seriously.

I do the exact same thing. I also laugh when I'm nervous, or feel awkward, or just don't know what to say. I've got it a bit more under control now, but during Jr. High and High School I was actually bullied because I laughed at everything and people took offense to it, or it annoyed them, or something.

Sometimes, I laugh for no reason. I have always done that, even when I was six months old. I also laugh when I think something is funny, but sometimes, I just start laughing and I can not say why.

When I was at school, in the classroom often I would burst out laughing for no reason. This made me look a bit stupid as nobody else was laughing with me. I often found things funny that other people didn't, and it also happened in some situations that were supposed to be serious.

It happens to me as well, especially when watching the Fox News Channel. The anchors and reporters are more humorous there than other cable news channels, anyway.

I can relate to laughing at something serious, however it isn't directly to that particular thing. I am sure enough of the time, it unfortunately comes across that way to others for me, too.

I often sit and smile for no apparent reason. I laugh at all sorts of stuff and people dont get why...

I will also laugh at things that I find find a lot later than is normal- I will laugh right after I hear it, and then a minute or so later, may start laughing again. Or, I will be thinking about something I found funny, and just randomly burst out laughing.

I do also have an "odd" sense of humor, like you mentioned with the news anchors, Tom.

Indeed! Do you "space out" all the time, reliving past moments, and occasionally wake up with a sense of urgency, laughter or strong emotion?

That would be "oh my God, I want to die" cringe. That sort of "humour" makes me sweat & edgy.

I often smile or laugh to my thoughts, though I usually try not to burst into laughter without cause when other people are present. Quite oddly, I find some unnerving situations very funny. For example, when everything goes wrong, I get into fantastic mood and start laughing and joking, to amazement and exasperation of others. (I mean situations like this: car breaks in the middle of nowhere, the thunderstorm approaches and it starts to rain, someone develops stomach problems and another person a migraine, the only cellphone gets broken, and wild animals are attacking us). :D

As a kid I was sometimes laughing so hard, that I was really rolling on the floor in agony, almost unable to breathe. Sometimes it looked that I was going to die of laughter! :D

I too have had a history of laughing at bad times. In school I always seemed to laugh at the teachers and adminstrators whenever I would get in trouble for something. Other times I'd laugh at things that no one else found funny.

I will sometimes think of something that was really funny to me while daydreaming and start laughing about it. This hasn't ever caused me any real problems, however.
