Oh yeah I read about that yesterday. Smart kid. I don't think I could ever do that. I'm not sure if it was sunday school putting the fear of God in me but I'm just too honest.

Hahaha - an autist after my own heart! Thanks so much for pointing out this article; I will get much pleasure thinking about this over the next several days.

At the end of the article, the kid's father implies that his son has very little education. Why, for goodness sake, doesn't the father take some responsibility for channeling his son's talents into something worthwhile?

Wow that's amazing! I wish I was that smart. He could recall the exact detail of every airline's flight schedules?? That's intense.

I find myself wondering 'how did he not know that what he was doing was incorrect?'. I concur with wildgrape aswell, why 'doesn't the Father take some responsibility for channeling his son's talents into something worthwhile?'.

How does a 16 year old fly from Yorkshire to Jersey for a 1.5 hour meeting without his parents knowing? Sure, my oldest kid is only 11, but he doesn't even get a snack without me knowing. And the parents know he's autistic, and they still let him just go off and do whatever, without knowing what he's up to?

Also, this kind of stuff in the news is going to start making people think that everyone with AS is a troublemaker.

People say oh how smart but what are the benefits of this ya know its like knowing all the train times helpful if u want a train but in other cases useless storage of memory

C'mon - I identify with this kid. He is not a troublemaker; he was merely setting up an airline 8O . What's wrong with a little self-confidence? I assure you that it adds much excitement to life.

I said that I agreed with wildgrape because the kid's Dad said something like; if only someone could channel and harness this intelligence. He was saying if someone (i.e. not him) could channel his son's talents, do you see what I'm getting at. He's sixteen not twentysix aswell, a minor.

I don't know about the kid who hacked the pentagon, though I would guess that it's a lot harder to observe a kid on a computer. I would also wonder why that kid did it though, regardless of what the parents said as regards the kid after he was found out.

I mean no offence by what I have said, if I have please let me know.

The person who hacked into the pentagon was not a kid, but rather about forty years old. He could sit alone with his computer and do his hacking, which is quite different from this teenager's undertaking.

The young autist in the article needed to convince a number of senior officials to go along with his project. Apparently he was quite successful, and not at all shy!
