Lets say for instance you get up multiple times walking around the house doing one thing at a time. Like for me I can't stay in one place for a long time so I get up. Sometimes I go my room back to the kitchen or another part of the house like 3-4 times in a row. Or when you are driving do you sometimes go out come back then a few minutes later go back out again.

Yes. Take everything in steps. Even if I wanted to cook something I'd walk around in circles in the kitchen then open all the cabinets, walk back to my room or walk around more then make it. :P

Most of the times I think my tasks through before doing them, to make execution more efficient. But when I am tired, I find myself doing them in bits also. Like shopping, first I go to the supermarket for food, but do not think of the task to buy a 'get well' post card. Then I go to the shop next to the supermarket to get the card, while I could buy the card in the supermarket in the first place.

I do that all the time. I don't like sitting down all the time, so I'll do walk (and run) around in the house. If I'm cleaning or cooking or something, I always do one small thing at a time and I'll take a break. for instance, let's say I'm making mac -n- cheese ( :D ). I'll get up from the computer (maybe find a song on Youtube to listen to before hand) and I'll walk around my house. After awhile I'll finally go to the kitchen and get a pan out. I'll continue listening to music and walking around the house and surfing the web. A few minutes later I'll boil the water. I'll get back online. I find the macaronni box. I'll run around the house again. Go to my computer and find a new song. Walk around the house some more, maybe lay down on my bed (but that isn't always the best idea because a lot of times I'll forget I'm cooking). When the water boils, I'll put the noodles in and look at the clock so I know when they are done. I'll get back online until it's done (but I try to remember to stir it every now and then) and then I drain it and add all the contents to it and then come back to it like 15 minutes later (even if I'm hungry, I'll forget about it alot of time.)

and cleaning takes forever because I do the same thing.

At home pretty much have to do the one thing at a time thing.

Physical health sometimes limits how much driving out can do, so will often try to make 2 to 4 stops on one route outbound then come straight back home.
Need a list so things don't get forgotten!

Just can't be spending gasoline money for multiple trips even in our little town.
When things have to be gotten from the city, they have to be done in multiple - can't afford the 60 mile round trip very often.

Often have to use a timer cooking so it don't get forgotten.
Blew up some boiled eggs once 8O
Often have to be reminded to turn off oven after baking anything - that gets lost in the getting out of the food and then doing whatever comes next to it.

I almost did that the other day. Well, not quite. I had forgotten that I was cooking hard boiled eggs, and when I finally remembered, the water was almost gone (but boiling like crazy at the same time) and the eggs were all cracked.

Sometimes I can do multiple tasks in a row, but sometimes I can't, cause I keep being distracted from one task to another and back etc.

Hard yes, of course. We all have issues with multitasking.

But it isn't impossible. I think through the steps needed to get it done, break it down into individual tasks, and then go and do it. If the tasks overwhelm me I make a list. I use Outlook but any old pen and paper will do.

Someone told me once that women are better than men at multitasking, I don't know if this is true. Me, I couldn't do more than two things at a time if my life depended on it.

That says it all.

For me, it can be a little challenging to direct my thoughts to more than one task at a time. I can become enormously klutzy when I attempt it. Even when I'm doing a simple form of multitasking, such as walking and talking to someone, I will often find myself bumping into walls (and also into the person I'm with), dropping whatever I'm holding at the moment, or tripping over my own feet.
