I have had my own buiness for 3 years now and im also in the process of creating my own innovative watch brand with some partners.

I havent seen many people here talk about theyre dreams and visions here and what things they are trying to achieve. I am very interested on hear about anyone who has expereince in creating new ventures but also is aspie and if they have found it ahinderence or a beneift.

im a design consultant, and im of the very sensitive and intuitive aspie type, and i found those skills exceptionally useful in making my clients unarticulated sub conscious desires come true in real 3d form. also i have strange intuions about which companies to contact and when etc and i find alot of work through that level of inspiration.

I would love to hear about other peoples experiences. I also really want to see (and be a) positive and inspiring exapmples of ASD/ADHD people who use thier ususal energy and consciousness to thier advantege in manifesting thier desires and dreams.

I’m a self employed licensed general contractor. I can construct, install or repair almost anything in a house or building, even appliances. My disadvantage is that I cannot hire anyone because I stink at human communication so I can only do small jobs but my advantage is that I don’t have to advertise because the same clients keep calling me for more work because they know I am honest and meticulous.

Exactly treat others in business or customers and that is how you'll be repaid
It is wonderful to read about autistics who are masters of their area as I am fairly new to the circuit in art but my friends have asked me to have prints done and in bluntness it is kind of depressing to scroll on the autistic forums and such a large don't work and I knda feel a lot happy now knowing there are others who are very good at what they do but still have a lovely ordinary life

I am doing my art as I get my degree and I love my university as it is so good to disabled people but after that some people will think where now but I would love to do voice acting in cartoons and cgi while doing some acting, artestry, drawing, podcasting and if everything goes to plan even character design for video games my lecturers certainly think I can and I know I can

I wonder with all the previous posters if your mantra was perservere and continue on and just endure all?

I have had a one man business doing custom wood and cabinets for many years. The word meticulous has been applied to me several times. The communication has been a great incumberance to me. Trying to be what it takes to interact with people on so many levels is an uphill battle for me. I get work because I have learned how to take what they say they want and the draw them a nice picture of it lol. I'm just a craftsman. The other stuff is just not for me. I might be able to do it but it would be too hard on a daily basis and I would be unhappy. I will usually figure out when someone is taking advantage too late as well. Takes a toll.

My main partner Flakey, would almost qualify..He is more of an entrepreneurial ADD/PDD-NOS person...Shortly after I became acquaintanced with him, he became my boss..(went out of his way to offer me a job)...he has a successful online ethnobotanical business that he started with the help of his previous responsible NT girlfriends...and then he ran off and started our venue with me...Right now we run both businesses...it is a great big handful...

I was just thinking earlier, well yesterday now, that a good comic book might be to personify Aspergers/Autism in a superhero and narcissism as a supervillain. Of course, the characters would have the traits for their corresponding diagnosis that goes without actually being said (like a shrink might see it, but the average kid reading it wouldn't).

I have a little cafepress store that doesn't make much money, but it's fun at least. I kinda like graphic design, but simple stuff yet. I plan on taking some courses in graphic design, and after I finish them (especially web design) and feel comfortable with web design, and after I read more on Web Marketing, I'm thinking about starting a little local business like an advertising agency for the net. I also have some local promotion ideas I'd like to do as well, like directing and choreographing style shows.

Also, I don't know if I'll ever do this, but I read the post on the craftsman who does cabinetry. I have so many ideas for functional furniture designs, but no way to make it pretty. My first idea started with wanting a lazy susan under my bathroom sink (I have way too many beauty products). Then I sit and look throughout my house, and I have ideas for furniture that would function as organizing devices and serious space savers. I think it would sell if I could make it pretty and build it. I'm not much for woodworking, but I could probably learn to enjoy it. I keep thinking that might be a wiser route only because I could seriously upsell it.

As usual, my problem is I have too many ideas I want to do that I can't decide on them, and then it never gets done.

I like your comic idea. You do have some good ideas. Not sure my ideas have any merit but like you said I also have difficulty deciding on what I should do. I sometimes pick something that interests me because I'm trying to explore it and in the process things are revealed and I can start to see the project come to fruition and I lose interest because the rest becomes just monotonous. That even happens to me when doing artwork. If I could be a people person then I could have my journeymen do the grunt work lol.

I've been trying to get a consulting business going. I've had two contracts, one very lucrative. And that's it. The problem is that I don't network well. Is anyone surprised?

I write software and sell it online. I don't make much money, but I'm a much much happier person now than I was before I was fired from my secure easy prestigious well paying job.

Depending on what you are consulting, look for your target market. Some hidy tidy business dudes will frequent a certain bar one night a week, and you can do some good networking there, but you don't have to be face to face to network. One thing that would probably help you is a newsletter that gives out free info on what they are doing and then you have a way to provide announcements. Facebook is also good if your target market does that so you can show your status (like when you take vacations, etc.). I can probably spit out some more ideas if I knew who your target market was, including if they are businesses or consumers.
