Does anyone know if its normal to feel pain and get massive headaches when exposed to light and lound sounds? I've always had these headaches everytime I watch a movie on the big screan and or go to a concert.
I think it's "normal", but not typical. In general most people are not that sensitive to light and sound, but if you are, that's not a sign that there is something abnormal about you. If that makes sense. Then again, some concerts are pretty dang loud. I'm sure I got permanent hearing loss at the rock concert I attended 15 years ago. My AS son HATES going to the ballet, because the orchestra is too loud for him and it hurts his ears.
Some people, especially on the spectrum, are extra sensitive to stuff like that. I've found that wearing polarized sunglasses outside helps. They are more expensive that they regular kind, but they cut down on glare, and make things much easier to look at. My problem is that I always seem to lose my sunglasses.
