I want to know if there are any Aspies in the Houston area (Houston, Galveston, Beaumont, Bryan/College Station). If so, let me know.

I'm about 4 hours west of Houston (a large city...you can probably guess which).

San Antonio, right? I don't think it's quite 4 hours away.

Nearly 4 hours...depending on how fast you drive. Did you have to evacuate from Rita last summer? It seemed like we had everyone here from New Orleans and Houston for a while.

Evacuation from Rita took 19 hours--to get to Crockett, Texas--about 100 miles north-northeast of Houston (near Lufkin).

I feel like getting a few drinks tonight. Poison Girl and Catbirds are my spots. If anyone feels like pretending to socialize, let me know. A few words are better than none, and company is always nice. Well, not always, but in social environments I never talk to anyone except whoever goes with me. I tried going out by myself once. That sucked.

Tonight is the Leo Party at Super Happy Fun Land...you should go to that...it won't be like being there by yourself...lots of odd-ball types tend to go there and fit right in....and also there will be other Houston aspies there...I can introduce you to them...

In my bar-hopping days I never really went with the intent of talking to anyone I didn't know...I just happened to be good friends with the various bartenders...from back in my band days...

Oh, it will still feel like it, trust me. It's a new place, with lots of unfamiliar people. Just hand me a shot of Patron and a beer when I walk in, and I'll loosen up. :P
